Everybody on this thread can post a holiday they made up. Then, we'll actually pick days to celebrate those holidays with threads on the Chatterbox!

Yay, holidays in August! I always did think needed some... So do September and March! Unfortunately, though, I can't think of any...

So, I have two holidays to bring to your attention. I did not make up either of them, but we need to celebrate them in any case. They are both HG2G things. 

All right, first up: 42 Day. 42 Day is celebrated on October 10, 2010. Besides being 10/10/10, this date is 42 in binary. Is this not awesome? I actually squee'd when I found this out. 
Next up and my favourite: Towel Day. Celebrated on March 25, the significance of the date being that it is two weeks after the date of Adam's death. On this day, people carry towels around with them all day. I'm going to do it this year -- be a frood and join me!

H2G2 - Squee!  Just finished that a few days ago... it was hilarious!  I'd be sitting reading it, and then I'd randomly burst out in fits of laughter earning funny looks from my dad. :)  42 Day... wow, that's perfect.  And... Towel Day is one day before my birthday, the date of my cousin's birthday and a bunch of my friends' birthdays!  (I think I know at least seven people with that birthday!)  This is awesome!  I had know idea there were actual holidays associated with H2G2!

National Pi Day! I didn't make it up, but it's March 14th. We'll have to wait a bit for that, I suppose.

My family and I celebrated National Pi Day last year Ima-we had pie for dessert! :)

As CJ suggested on the tardigrade thread, let's have a holiday for water bears on September 3!  This was the day in 1702 when tardigrades were first seen by Anton van Leeuwenhoek.  Sounds good?
