I finally just
I finally just decided to look up NaNoWriMo, because everyone always talks about it on here and I never had a clue to what is was (besides the fact it had something to do with writing)...(oh and sorry, I know this thread probably shouldn't be here, but it seems all the other places are.... dead). Anyway, WOW. Have any of you been able to complete the 50,000 words??? That is amazing, especially in one month. Oh, whoops, I have to go. But please tell me about your experiences with this. Thanks! :)

Congratulations on being able to join!
For some reason, I couldn't find you. I searched both ways, but you weren't there. Hm...

Hi there! Thanks to all who buddied me! It'll be fun doing NaNo with all you guys! Unfortunately, I can't do JulNo because I have camp the first 10 days of the month and I would be too far behind to get 50,000 words all in. Good luck to all JuNo people!

Are you saying that you would do JulNo, butt you won't because you don't have enough time with your camp? If so, I might have good news, depending on your schedule. There are actually many [first 3 letters of month here]NoWriMos throughout the year, including one in August (AugNoWriMo, just like JulNo but a month later). So you can still do that if you want and have time. You can Google it. If you want to do it, but don't have time, there are more. Don't worry. I'll probably end up making threads even for the ones I don't do, just to show people. After all, people certainly seemed to want to do JulNo. And don't worry; I'll give everyone enough time to sign up if they want. I probably won't want to write another 50,000-word novel directly afterward, but I might change my mind. Who knows?

@ Ima: Right, I do know about the others from the site. We'll see if I actually get around to doing one. I'm definitely doing it in November, and I'm not even sure if I'm actually capable of doing another novel during the year... ;) As you said, who knows? I'll just let things play out and go with the flow. :)

I'm probably going to try NaNo this year, though I'm probably not going to be able to meet the goal, but that's okay.
(June 17, 2010 - 8:22 pm)
Personally, I don't see why anyone would want to write a novel.
((This is an SI)).

@ H, who wouldn't want to write a novel?! It seems so amazing!!!
I'm going to do Nanowrimo this year. I'm going to try really hard to meet the goal, but I'll probally just get pretty close.

@ZNZ: Oh, I see. You signed up for NaNo instead of JulNo. That's why I didn't find you. *was Googling Chatterboxers' NaNo's like you said due to immense boredom* Unless you were already on NaNo, and just forgot to do JulNo?
Cherry's comment isn't up yet, which is why I'm not responding to it.

I finally signed up for JulNo! And I sent you a U2U message thingie...

I just broke 2K and am ridiculously happy.

I'm lazy. I stopped writing as soon as I realized I'd met the daily goal. I do plan to start again sometime today, though... But not yet!

I have 3423. Mwa ha ha.

3800. /shameless bragging. BTW, what's your novel about? Mine is a sci-fi thing ... and one of the evil genetically-engineered monkeys decided, for no apparent reason, to teach himself Russian and read an unabridged War and Peace in the original Russian.
Yeah...

Well, I'm making it up as I go, mainly, and not much has happened yet (I'm afraid I might be overloading the description, actually, but I'm terrified of not meeting the word count goal, so I'm not paying attention to that), but it's fantasy, and so far, well, there's this girl, and she's an orphan who lives with this shepherd, who disappeared for 2 mornings in a row, and I don't have the slightest idea why. I just started writing, and oddly, this was what came onto the paper.
I know that a large section of the novel will be written from a tree's point of view, because I think it would be fun to write, but I don't know exactly how to fit that in, either. I'll see. Hopefully it'll become interesting at some point.
Keep bragging. I'm hoping it will spark competitive impulses in me so that I write more.
One of my favorite methods of procrastination is reading books meant to help along the month... and rereading...and rereading...
