Pointless words that most people don't know!!!!!!  This thread will be like a dictionary, but not in alphebetical order, and just with crazy words.  If you want to put up a word you have to say the word, pronunciation and a brief definition.  Okay??  I'll put some up now.

* abominate-(it's pronunced just like it looks) To deeply loathe

* eureka- (your eek a) Means "I've found it"  (not that the word's unknown or anything, but anyway)

* xenophobia- (zee no pho bia) Fear or hatred towards foreign things  (I like this one!)

Ooh! I love this sort of thing!

I learned most of these from other Chatterboxers, actually, but some came from—erm, never mind. It's a website.

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanokoniosis, AKA pneumonoultramicoscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (new MON oh OL truh MY crow SKOP ick SIL ih CO voll CAY no CO knee OH sis)—Silicosis. For those who don't know what that is, it's a disease caused by breathing in microscopic particles of silicon. Pneumon-et-cetera is especially used when the silicon particles come from volcanoes, I think.

Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliaphobia (phonetic)—Fear of long words, ironically.

Agathokakological (phonetic)—Composed of both good and evil

Eristic (ee RISS tick) Pertaining to argument, especially for its own sake

Iatrogenic (ie OT ro GEN ic)—A malady induced inadvertently by a physician or surgeon or by medical
treatment or diagnostic procedures.

Hehe good words Ima!!  Pretty much all I do is look at random pages in my dictionary and find words that are lpretty much unknown.  Here's another

* rendezvous-( ron-day-voo)  a place appointed for meeting//// to gather at a rendezvous

k, i might be spelling this wrong, but here

 

monosylabic (mon OH sil ab IC)  it means 1 sylible ( however you spell it)

its kinda funny-cause it has so many syalables (spelling)

@Smile (or Cherry recently) My friend actually has xenophobia!  She gets really freaked out when people from other places and religions come close to her.  I keep telling her its racist though.

@ Allison, I've never met someone with xenphobia, but I was just looking randomly through my dictionary and found the word.  Oh and yes, it is racist.
