College?Ok,

College?Ok,
College?
Ok, I know I'm too young to worry, but does anyone know any good art or science colleges? This has been my latest brooding-over topic :D Where do you guys want to go to college? Parents? Admins ;D? So...yeah :)
I didn't really think about college till I was about 16 or so. Then I decided I wanted to go to a small liberal arts school. But some people like really big universities where there are lots more courses and activities. You can visit different schools and see where you feel most comfortable. My father requested that I go no farther than a one-day's drive from home. I had to write for college information, but today you can find all that infomation online.

I want to double-major in bioengineering and music, but not a lot of colleges have both of those programs. Rice University and University of Rochester both look good, though. Koffee, when you take the PSAT test, participate in the Student Search (but only if you don't mind getting LOTS of mail!). You tell them what type of majors you're interested in, then colleges with those programs send you letters/brochures telling you about themselves. It's a good way to learn about colleges you might like.

And when Maddy says LOTS of mail, she really means a pile about as high the average desk. And almost *checks* 300 emails in less than a year. Plus various magazines.

1. UFT
2. Harvard (one can dream)
3. Ryerson
I hear Ryerson is a dance college, or arts college, or something like that. You can Google it if you want. I don't know any science colleges. And by art, do you mean The Arts, like theatre, painting, etc. Or just stuff like sketching and painting?

UNLV is supposed to be a good arts school, whereas UNR has engineering and math and so on.
If you forced me to pick my college now, I would probably say Bob Jones in South Carolina. We see eye-to-eye on pretty much everything, and it's a solidly academic school with excellent teachers. 'Sides, two of my uncles live and work there - two uncles that I see rarely because, well, they live in South Carolina.

I go to Bob Jones for my piano auditions! The campus is really pretty. Have you been there?

Yes, yes, I know I'm "too young" and all, but I have begun to look in to colleges. I went on a road trip last summer, and visited Haverford, a small liberal arts college near Philadelphia. It's a really great school, from what I saw, but of course, it's only the first I've been to. I refuse to consider large state schools/universities - anything huge is not for me. I'm a small school person. This summer, I'm going on a road trip again, and I'll be seeing St. Olaf (where my friend is going next year and where his sister, who's a freshman now, is going), Grinell (where my dad went), Oberlin (where my mom's friend went), and Ithaca College (where someone my family knows teaches). So far, I like Haverford (what a surprise!). But I wholeheartedly agree with TNÖ, that when it comes to education, small colleges can be good, too!
Oh, and sorry for the long-ish absence. I've been busy (yes I know, poor excuse).
