what's it like to have autism?
hey y'all, I've been wondering for a while if I might have autism. I've heard about many of the common symptoms and I feel like I have a few of them, especially obsession with a specific topic, sensory issues (mostly with sounds), depression (kind of), and social awkwardness. however, I haven't really talked to an autistic person. I was wondering if anyone here with autism could help me figure out if I do have autism or not. (by the way, I also have ADD or ADHD). thanks :D
No one here is a verified expert on autism. I do know that there is a whole range and degrees of symptoms. I suggest you look for more information from a medical or public health source or from a library.

I have ADHD (a mix of the hyperactive and inattentive types, I believe) and autism, but I know more 'bout ADHD than autism. However, my mom once mentioned that one of the signs of autism is not makin' eye contact. She noticed that when I was a baby, I wasn't makin' eye contact. I still can't do it, especially if people have light-colored eyes (the ice-blue eyes make me feel like they're staring straight into my soul).
