I need advice

I need advice on something, specifically something that will be pretty much unable to be changed for the next 20ish years.

for those unaware, I own a python named Blink. currently, he is growing at an alarming rate. I'll need to get a bigger enclosure for him very soon. this new enclosure is going to be his home pretty much permanently.

that's where the dilemma comes in. ball pythons get around three or four feet long. the standard size enclosure for an adult ball python is four feet long, two feet wide, and three feet tall. technically I only have to get an enclosure that big. however, Blink loves to explore around his current enclosure and use the entire space. I really want to get an enclosure at least five feet long, but five-foot enclosures cost a lot more and aren't as easy to move. plus it wouldn't fit in my room.

so, in summary, should I get a:

1: technically big enough enclosure that will cost less and maybe fit in my room

2: big enclosure that will let Blink have more room, but will cost more and not fit in my room

I vote for 2

I would also say 2, since in my opinion, it's worth investing for a pet to be comfortable---after all, they're living creatures, and definitely deserve to be treated as such---and when you take on the responsibility of taking care of them, you commit yourself to making sure they're happy and such (although I know you already know all that :) ). Ofc, cost, and space, yeah... if you do want to do 1, perhaps you could have another, bigger "enclosure" for him to play in outside of his primary enclosure or something? You know, like how guinea pigs have their cage and then they have a big pen that you can unfold and put obstacles and toys in? Idk how that would work for a snake though, since they can climb, right? Hm...

I definitely vote for the second. Even if the enclosure is technically big enough, it's still probably going to be better for Blink to have the extra room; in the wild he would have so much more. Especially if Blink likes moving around and exploring :D
