Ooo I'll have to see if my local library has any of those! You can read aurabesh to!?! *also screams in aurabesh* And thank you Zoba! I am a bit behind on the challenge but I'm having fun so far! My family and I have been busy trying to pack up stuff in our house to move once we find a house. And my dance recital is in three weeks so that's exciting!

So awhile back you asked for my help with some characters (Sorry it took me so long!) and the advice I'm gonna give will kind of depend on what perspective you're going to be writing in. And I want to say now that any advice I give is just me brainstorming, not really complete ideas. (And If you've already written stuff don't feel like you have to use my ideas. I'm just eager to help when I can! ;3)

For Zahar (or with any character) I think depicting inner turmoil can be done in a few different ways:

He could deflect anger by taking the blame or putting himself down by saying something like "I deserve it." Or " I had it coming for me." If he makes a mistake it becomes a big problem for him internally but speaks of it as no big deal.

Another way could be with how he reacts to certain things, he could dismiss compliments and kind words with sarcasm or self criticism because he might feel unworthy. He may feel guilty for stuff that he isn't responsible for, again more self blame. He might compare himself to others and feel inferior or again unworthy. Then to try and offset his feelings of being inferior he might overachieve and try to do all he can to be the best. But eventually maybe later as a good arc he'll learn that you can't be perfect.

One big thing about anxiety is over thinking everything. And I mean everything, from dialogue and reactions to just messing up in the tiny tiniest way. She might fidget with something avoid eye contact or something that might cause more nervousness. She could second guess herself and imagine worse case scenarios, leading to hesitation, avoidance, and isolation to avoid having that bad thing she thinks will happen from happening. She may not only avoid confrontation because of what she thinks will happen she may avoid tasks and responsibilities for fear of failing or something else bad. Causing her to seem indecisive. (Again over thinking)

Then if she does fail in some way she might try and apologize for the minor mistake (perhaps continuously because the mistake might still be bothering her despite what others say). And all of this makes her mentally exhausted causing her to perhaps not think clearly. But over time and with the kind words of friends she can heal and gradually show signs of progress and self confidence. She might eventually share her struggles with others and/or face fears with help from characters like Scrib maybe (I mean I'm not sure what your plans are for Scrib but from what I can tell he seems like a very positive character and his influence could really help Xiao ;3). Then at the end, climax, or arc of her character she could face her deepest fear/ anxiety trigger and get rid off that anxiety. (Wooo! Go Xiao!) And with her overcoming her anxiety that leaves her free to die as a sacrifice or something.

One last great way to show internal struggle with both characters is, Flashbacks and or haunting memories and than their avoidance to talk about said memories. Like they might rarely hint at things and then relieve their stress by telling the complete story.
