Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hey Hey! Here's

Hey Hey! Here's a how'd you meet a friend thread!

I'll go first.

It was in like 5th grade and I was walking my dog with my mom, and we met the guy who moved in around the corner from us, and we were talking and he had a son with the same name as a kid in my class, so he called him outside. Turns out he was a different kid with the same name. We both  liked Harry Potter, and I had a pink umbrella, so we hit it off. We said good bye (After like 30 minutes of playing together) and I thought nothing other than "Guess I have a bestie now". I went outside the next day and found a note by my rain pipe. He left a letter talking about it. So yeah! We've been best friends ever since.

I was in 2nd grade at a homeschool field trip, and I was standing in the middle of a really loud group of boys as we lined up for an activity, or waiting for the teacher or something (I can't quite remember), and I saw this girl standing on the end of the line and thought she looks nice, and went to stand by her. We got grouped for a project and, being a seven year old, I asked, "Do you want to be friends?" Her face lit up and she said yes, which made my face light up. We left holding hands and insisting that our moms exchange numbers. She's been my best friend ever since.

During PE study hall, I just randomly started talking to the person next to me, and we eventually became friends.

I was at ahomeschool thing, and it was leter in the day and one of the other people I met had gone home. And there was this thing where you press the pokey things on oneside and it makes something on the other side. Well, there was this girl, standing next to me, messing with the other one. And I was making a dragon...and so was she. So we went to a table after talking for a moment, and finding out we both liked to draw. We found some paper, adn we were drawing...and we traded pictures of our art! ANd I still have the picture hanging on my wall. We've been best friends ever since, and she's also my 1# bae.

I had just started going to our church and it was snack time.I picked green onion and sour cream lays(the optimal decision)and a girl sat down next to me,and she was the only other person who had picked green onion sour cream lays!!!we then found out that we both liked to draw(even if we weren't very good at it)and we had a bunch of stuff in common.

This was about a year ago,and we've been church BFFs ever since.

and we're in the same grade so when we went into 6th grade and transitioned from kids ministry to youth group (which I was very scared about because I didn't know anybody in youth)we had each other.

When I was in first grade, I was friends with these two girls (S and M) because my desk happened to be next to S's (we all had desks assigned to us). I liked her name, and told her that I thought it was pretty, and we became friends. Then in second grade we kind of drifted apart and I became friends with C, but come to think of it, I can't remember how we became friends. (this is a major revelation to me lol) Maybe we just kind of realized we were similar and decided we wanted to hang out. We had some playdates, and we usually played together at recess, and we spent a lot of time together. She was really fun. (Every time I see Confessions of a Shopaholic, the main character reminds me of her...) She's changed a lot, though, and we don't see each other anymore because I started homeschooling and somehow we just drifted apart.

I got to know my other friend because she was the daughter of my parents' friends and we were the same age, so we  hung out together... but then she ditched me :(

Right now my absolute bff is A, and... we've never actually met! She's the daughter of my mom's friend, and she contributed a couple of pieces for the literary magazine that my sister and I edited. After that we started writing letters to each other and talking virtually, and she's a super-lovely person and I think we really do have a great friendship :)

My favorite friend origin story is probably that our sisters were both friends, and each told us (without coordinating) that we should become friends. Ergo, we did. Mind you, we have two or three mutual friends so it probably would have happened eventually, but the interference certainly helped haha.

As for my best friend, our last names share the first two letters, so we were always seated next to each other-- and since we had three classes together in our first year at our school, it was pretty much inevitable that the two nerdy artists who spent half of every school day together would befriend each other.

I recently made a friend, and he's 2 grades ahead but ANYWAY

We knew each other before, but we became friends through a D&D campaign--I really do love a good game of D&D. This story kind of reminds me of a D&D graphic novel, but I can't really remember what it's called.
