Hi! I'm new,

Hi! I'm new, I guess. I've been reading Cricket (and Chatterbox) for a while, but my parents only just recently had time to look at the website and decide I could post. So...you can call me ZNZ. I am 12 years old and in seventh grade. I love to read and write, fantasy especially. Right now I'm reading the Inheritance cycle, and I love them! I also like to draw and make things. I live here in Hobbiton with my little brother ("The Bug"), my parents, and our two dogs, Glatisant and Tarkheena. Also, I have double jointed elbows. So hi again, everybuggy! It's nice to "meet" you.

back to the Down to Earth

Hi, I'm Elizabeth, also known as EW. Finally, a (real) person with a Z in their name. Two! ;-) I love the Inheritance Cycle, and it was my favorite series for a while, but now it's Percy Jackson! Have you read them? If you haven't, I advise that you do so. They've made a movie, and it's coming to theaters on February 12! I think this is a good time for you to start coming here. A new year, new friends. I don't think I've ever met someone whose first name starts with a Z. If you don't mind my asking, what is your name? If you don't want to say, just because we're on the internet, you don't want your identity stolen,  that's cool. Just wondering. Where is Hobbiton, by the way? I've heard the word Tarkheena before, but I can't think where. That's really cool that your elbows are double jointed. Do you like to write? I really do, a lot a lot, I like to dance (ballet, tap, jazz), read, go here, email, surf the web, and just basically have a good time.

Hi, you guys. It's nice to "meet" you. I feel very welcomed. :) Elizabeth, in answer to your questions...

1. Percy Jackson is awesome. I really want to see the movie.

2. My first name doesn't start with Z, but it has a Z in it. ZNZ is a nickname of mine, not my initials. It's...complicated. And I'd rather not give my real first name. I hope you don't mind.

3. Hobbiton is in Middle Earth. It's very nice here.

4. In the Chronicles of Narina, Tarkheena is a title for a Calormene lady, so in The Horse and His Boy, you have Tarkheena Aravis. If you haven't read those, you should.

5. I love to write! I expect I'll be spending a lot of time on the Inkwell. Most of what I write is fantasy stuff. I'm working right now on a story about The Twelve Dancing Princesses. Do you know that fairy tale?

And Kirsten, tell Anti-spam thank you. Right now he says avyi. Not sure what that is...

I totally don't mind that you don't want to give your name out. What with all those creeps out there, you don't want to risk your safety. Totally okay. Also, I was thinking that it was from The Horse and His Boy. I've read that book several times. I was thinking, 'I've heard that name from some fantasy...which one was it? Maybe that Narnia story...'

AAAAAAH! I HAVE DOUBLE JOINTED ELBOWS TOO!!!  *calms down and feels silly* Nice to meet you, ZNZ! I wonder how many people there are just reading the Chatterbox and not posting? It makes you fell somewhat self-conscious. *looks out suspiciously at the one-way window separating computers from real life*

Welcome ZNZ!  I am Leaf swinging on my tree and I love to read, write, draw, and play violin and piano.  I'm 12 and in seventh grade as well!!  Tree school is a very interesting experience... ;)  And  Hobbiton is where The Hobbit takes place, correct?  Before I joined the Chatterbox, I read the threads for a while as you did.  I like your dogs' names!  What kinds of dogs are they?  I raise guide dogs for the blind (see the thread 'Lancer's Birthday' for more info).  Lancer is our current dog, btw, a yellow lab.

It's great you could join us; I'm sure you'll be a great addition to our forum!

Wow, Leaf! That's awesome about the guide dogs. I've heard of that but I never met anybody who did it. I'm glad you like our dog names! Tarkheena is part Rottweiler, and she
has some other parts I can't remember just now. The other one,
Glatisant, I can't remember any of the parts to. They're both very nice dogs, though. I take piano lessons too! And yes, Hobbiton is where the Hobbits live.
