Chatterbox: Down to Earth
It's almost the
It's almost the end of the decade!! *sniff* I know it isn't really that big of a deal for most people, but it's kind of sad to me. :( I've lived in this decade since I was 5 and now it's over... *sniff* :\ Anyway, I'm going to make this survey type thing (I'm not trying to copy you, Paige, I promise. ;) ) for the end of the decade. Sort of like the high points of each year.
You can put as many as you want. :) Here's mine (my answers will be in italics)
Each year in review:
2000: Hmm, well, I got out of pre-school that year *giggles*. I also moved into this house I live in now that year. Not a big move, though. Still in the same town.
2001: I went into kindergarten that year. XP
2002: Nothing extremely special happened that year (that I can remember...).
2003: Our neighbor moved and gave his kitty Rosie to us. <3 :)
2004: Er, well I got a new hairstyle that year (I'm pitiful, I know). I always had really long hair and that year I got it cut really short, so people didn't recognise me for a while. XP
2005: I had really great teachers that year, but I remember thinking that it had been a bad year when it was over (I don't remember why...). But now when I think about it I can't remember what was so bad about it... :\
2006: My best friend (since kindergarten) moved that year, and we were never really as close since... *sniff* But I made alot of wonderful new friends that year, too. <3 :)
2007: That year was really stressful on me, but thinking back on it all I can think of are the good things. :) :)
2008: I "graduated" from elementary school that year, and started homeschooling that year, so I was alot less stressed and could actually enjoy things.
2009: I had a pretty good year this year, though the last few months have been hard on me. I've made alot of decisions this year and am finally getting where I want to go (even though I'm very impatient about it).
And 2010. Are you making any resolutions? If so, what are they? What do you want to happen in 2010? My resolution for 2010 is to reconnect with my old friends again. I'm hoping that I can make a new start this year, and I hope that things turn out right, but you know how that goes. ;)
So how has the decade been for you guys? And what do you want for 2010? I hope you had a great year and a great decade. :)

2000: My youngest sister was born. And well, that's 'bout it, or all that I can remember.
2001: Boy am I bad at remembering what happens in different years. My papa bought Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I had a Barbie themed birthday party.
2002: Ummm, grrrrr, I can't remember anything!!!
2003: " "
2004: That might have been the year that I made a couple new friends. I also went to the theatres to watch Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
2005: The first annual Christmas Coconut Cracking on Christmas Eve begins!
2006: Second annual Christmas Coconut Cracking!
2007: The year when I made a new friend at a homeschool softball team. Watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at the movie theaters. I do a monologue and a part in a play in a Christmas recital. Third annual Christmas Coconut Cracking!
2008: A lot of construction goes on in our house. My sister, Rachel, gets her own room. I make a new friend. The second Christmas recital happens. I start to write and stop because the writing was so awful. My grandparents on my mama's side, and my aunt, uncle and two litlle boy cousins come for Christmas. I am sick on Christmas. Fourth annual Christmas Coconut Cracking!
2009: I get my first years subscribtion of Cricket! I find more reasons to hate math. I start researching the origins of words, spells, and names from Harry Potter. I start to write again. Make another new friend. Read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for myself. I fall in love with Latin. I watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in the movie theaters. I try jazz over the summer. This Christmas recital I am not in this year, but my sisters are. I get back into cross-stitching. Grandparents come again for Christmas.
2010: I want to rule the world! Mwahahaha!!Mwahahaha!! Joking, joking. I hope to keep writing, learning Latin, researching Harry Potter words, and do a correct tennis stroke. If I live to be in 2010:).
(December 30, 2009 - 10:29 pm)
Haha, very interesting. ;D Don't worry, it was hard for me to remember some of the years, too. XP
And on the 2010: Haha about ruling the world. XD
*Gasp* on the part about if you live to be in 2010. O.O Let's hope so. ;D :) :)

I forgot to put in that in 2009 we had the fifth annual Christmas Coconut Cracking!

2000: Autumn was born, and I got to be a big sister!
2001: Um.. I think that was when my family was bulding the house that I'm living in right now.
2002: I had a birthday party and got the doll from Kazakastan; my aunt lived there for a while.
2003: We moved into this house.
2004: Luna was born.
2005: The first time I got to go to my grandma's house alone without mom or dad. She lives near Chicago, so that was really cool for me.
2006: I don't really remember much of this year...
2007: My family was getting ready to leave for Texas.
2008: I lived at Texas for a couple months, and even turned ten there!
2009: We got little Dawny poo-poo. (My family's nick name for her.)
And 2010. Are you making any resolutions? If so, what are they? To be nicer; I remember some times that I wish I hadn't said stuff like that. I want to think more before I say things. What do you want to happen in 2010? I want to make a lot of friends! :D
(December 31, 2009 - 10:26 am)
2000: I started kindergarten! Booyah! :D
2001: Erm. . . . First grade, y'know, that type of thing.
2002: Second grade. Learned how to write in cursive, besides multiplication. Whooppee-day.
2003: Third grade. Learned to ski (booyah again!) and had to memorize poetry in school for the first time, which is a big thing for me. Moved to this house.
2004: Fourth grade, obviously. My first attempts at poetry writing (which I gag when I run across by accident), and my first introduction to GCL. :)
2005: Last year in private school, turned 10 and such like.
2006: Started homeschooling, skipped sixth grade. Started taking a writing class, which required serious poetry memorization. Started MathCounts, which improved my mad math skills immeasurably. :D
2007: Learned to crochet, more writing, entered the writing co-op I'm in today.
2008: Kept crocheting, kept on doing school. Physical science for science this year - very cool. I started really going bananas about science here. Still writing in co-op. Our family goes on our month-long trip to the east coast. My MathCounts team wins second place in regionals, so we get a trip to Vegas for the state competitions.
2009: A hard year. Wrote a novel in a month back in March. Won my first Cricket contest and thus found you guys. :D Read Richard III and Hamlet as my first intro to Shakespeare - very cool. My last MathCounts competition this spring. Got to state competition with that but got squashed there. Took the SATs for the first time, got outscored by my brother BY A MEASLY TEN POINTS. Still rather sore about that. Hard fall with school, but it was good for me. I hope. Cause otherwise I just had a miserable four months for nothing. Finished high school math. Got a laptop (booyah just one more time). Spent the whole year working on piano Christmas duets that I played with my mom in nursing homes this December. Started playing the piano in church. Still crazy about science, still writing.
2010: Herm. Well, I'm starting calculus, which is big. College math and all that. I'm determined to start getting more serious about writing and making moolah off it if I can. Wondering what exactly it is that I'm supposed to be doing with my life. A hard time in life, but I'll live. Well, I hope I will. If I don't, in theory I'll just disappear from the Chatterbox, and you'll never really know, will you? Perhaps I'll leave instructions that you be notified. :) I really don't know what's going to happen in this next year. My whole life's in front of me, and I think I'm about to come to a turning point where I'll see a little more of the future, see where I'm going.
This last year has been a lonely one. Even when I stretch things rather drastically, I would say I have four friends and five friendish people. But I've got to say that that estimate is people I know in real life, and that when I've gotten all lonely and self-pitying and such in the last few months, coming on here cheers me up, so thanks. Chances are pretty good that I'll never actually meet any of you, but even so, you've helped me a good deal whether you know it or not. Thanks for that, and I'll try to do the same for y'all.
Cheers,
lavendershy

Cool. :) I can't believe how ahead you are in your schooling. I'm a little jealous. ;D Anyway, I agree with you about how coming on here can really cheer you up. It's cheered me up alot, too. :D You never know. Maybe you will meet one of us one day. It's a small world. But even if you don't, it already feels like I know all of you. :)

2000: Started "officially" homeschooling, brother G was born.
2001: Er...
2002: My best friend moved away, and my brother J was born.
2003: Moved from small town to the small city 10 miles south.
2004: Started growing out my bangs (for some reason I remember this very clearly) and sister B was born.
2005: Took a huge road trip to Massachusetts.
2006: My best friend moved back, my brother N was born, and I went to camp for the first time.
2007: Took another huge road trip to Massachusetts, and got another cat.
2008: Began to be interested in acting, first and more beloved cat died, sister M was born.
2009: Acted in Pinocchio, began high school, and went to camp with BOTH my cousin and my best friend.
2010: Will act in Aladdin, have another sibling, and be slightly overwhelmed by sudden amount of school.
(January 2, 2010 - 4:35 pm)
2000: Um, I took my first vacation. I went to Illinois. Seeing as I was only 2 that year, I don't remember anything else.
2001: I don't have any memories at all. Wait... I started preschool.
2002: I don't really remember much... I got out of preschool. Wait, no, that was next year...
2003: I started kindergarten and girl scouts, and made a best friend. Oh, and I did my first project for the Science Fair (about birds). I won the school, and Regional, for my grade, and wasn't allowed to go further because I was too young.
2004: Horrible year. Very boring, except being betrayed by said best friend, which was worse than being bored. Wait... Actually, I did start piano lessons and choir. Won school and regional science fair for my grade again, about... What was it about, anyway?
2005: Much better. Gained a real best friend. Had fun. Won school spelling bee for my grade again, and recieved 3rd place in Regional (on alpacas).
2006: I moved from Austin to a town near Houston, which was exciting at the time, but I regret it so much now. I assumed I'd make more friends, but I never did. And I never got in touch with the real best friend again. No time for a SF project.
2007: Gained 2 friends. Well, I did make friends, I suppose, but not real, lasting 1s. Participated in SF, but this one didn't give awards, so I don't know if I would've won. My subject was Vancouver Island Marmots.
2008: Won the school spelling bee. Acted in first play.
2009: Won school spelling bee again. Sang a solo in choir.
2010: Do better in District Spelling bee than last year, for sure. And see a play. And read. And when school's out, skip 7th grade, if possible.
