Ballet!!!!!!!! I don't
Ballet!!!!!!!! I don't know if anyone else wants to talk about ballet, but if they do, this is the place to do it. Start by saying if you are on pointe, if you have done any major performances, and so on. You can also talk about any other types of dance too, like tap, contemporary, or jazz.

I used to do ballet (and musical theater, and tried out jazz, hip hop, and tap too), but then covid came and I dropped it, with the exception of one summer class program maybe 1 or 2 years ago? I was not on pointe, have done many performances with various companies (but mostly just one company that changed name and location), and love arabesques and elevates (however you spell it). I think one of my favorite ballet pieces to dance to was Fly to Your Heart.
Does anyone do Musical Theater? I love SO MANY songs from there!! Smile, Make Em Laugh, You Can't Stop the Beat, I Whistle a Happy Tune, It's a Hard Knock Life, You Can't Stop the Beat, We Go Together, L.O.V.E., Together (Wherever We Go, from Gypsy), I Won't Grow Up, I Know It's Today, Distant Melody... I could go on!

I do musical theater!!! Right now I'm in Seussical the Musical, and it's really fun. I'd be lying if I said the story isnt a bit wacky, though...

Hi! I love arabesques too, but one of my favorite steps is sombles. I recently went on pointe, and it is really hard, but fun too.

Hi @SwallowPoint! I love that you made this! I do ballet every day exept for Tuesday and Friday. No I am not on pointe yet but my sisters are. I am in the Nutcracker! I am a party guest and a chinese variatiation. I can't think of anymore to say but mabye later! :D (:

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am a small variation not a older or some people say, Tall variation.
I accidentaly spelled variation like, variatiation. I have practice today for my Party Guests part in the Nutcracker. I am a girl in that scene, my sisters are boys in that part.
Stardew says, "ir wwe" she might be saying earwig or ew.

i don't do ballet but i do do musical theatre and i'm in a company where you have to take dance classes too so i'm currently taking tap and broadway jazz. tap is definitely my favorite of the two, but i really like both of them :D

I literally only know one move in tap from when I took a summer class when I was like 6, but I absolutely love doing it over and over again!! It's the one where you lift one foot, swing it back while hitting the floor once, swing it front while hitting the floor once, put it down with a thud, and take your other foot and hit the top-part-where-the-nails-are toe on the floor behind you (kinda like you're doing a curtsy)! if that makes sense...
ooh I want to do Seussical!! It sounds so amazing, but I think I just missed iwhen my school did it!
But just on a musical related note, I memorized Naughty, School Song, Quiet, and Revolting Children from Matilda, and am working on When You Grow Up! I LOVE the songs, and the story, and the book!! And the musical and music and choreography!! Eek!
also memorized What Is This Feeling, I'm Not That Girl, One Short Day, Popular, Defying Gravity, and For Good from Wicked even though I STILL NEED TO WATCH THAT AND HAMILTON!!!
(how do I memorize the songs you ask? By listening to them over and over again oc!)

ON A BALLET NOTE,
I also used to love ballet walking around everywhere for some reason. Last year, my friends and I would just randomly start dancing ballet during PE class, it was awesome! Also, am I the only one who's like GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE TO THAT BALLET BUN AND ALL THOSE BOBBY PINS AND LIPSTICK BLECHH!! ?
also I love putting one foot up on the bar then elevaeing (however you spell it) then plieing (again, however you spell it) the other foot, then switching! It's just ridiculously fun for some reason!

I had ballet yesterday and I did a double!!! and LANDED IT!!! I can barely land a single pirouette sometimes, so landing a double???
I also do Jazz and Lyrical (jazz is my favorite though)
(Inkling says "wfoar" either that means "what for" or "what for oar" or "roar" or "what oar"...)

Nice! I was working on my doubles all summer, so they've really improved this year. Now I'm working on in pirouette doubles and I'm not very good yet, but my teacher (the best in the world) says don't wind up before you turn, bring your foot right up to the leg, and act like your foot is drilling into the floor. If that didn't really make sense, sorry, that's just kinda how I talk.

I can't believe I haven't said this yet but I got double-cast in the Nutcracker that comes to our town (almost) every year!!! I got the part of a party guest (no boys auditioned so I am acting a boy :D) and then a small variation (Russian!!). I'm SUPER excited and we only have 5 more rehearsals (one is today!) till we perform!!!!
Russian variation is more character dancing than ballet, but my partner and I are wearing ballet flats instead of character shoes. It's a bit painful because we have to do this part where we are balancing on our heels. It would be harder with character shoes because of the heel but less ouchie:)
