Hey everyone, I’m Cruciverbalist! I’ve been on the CB for a while and have been meaning to post something, but I didn’t get around to it until now. I love creative writing in all forms though I mostly write poetry and short stories that I never finish. I also love to read, listen to music (some of my favorite artists are Christina Perri and Taylor Swift), play the guitar, and play board games. And hence my name (which means crossword enthusiast), I love to do the New York Times’s crosswords. I also have a small dog. My pronouns are she/her. I’m really excited to join the Chatterbox! (:

Hey Cruciverbalist!! Welcome to the CB! I love your name (and location!) - it's very cool :D I'm Pangolin, she/they pronouns. I love writing (mainly poetry and weird short story/description things without much of a plot) and reading (generally fantasy, but I'll read anything :D). Taylor Swift and Christina Perri are both great artists (I'm very excited for 1989 (Taylor's Version)!), and other favorite artists of mine include LEON, Lyn Lapid, and Gabrielle Aplin :D I also love animals, nature, kayaking, drawing, and history, and am very invested in environmental issues.

Let me start by saying that I love your location (I read it and my brain was just like INSPIRATION INSPIRATION INSPIRATION GOING CRAZY THIS IS AMAZING AHHHH) (yeah, I can't interpret it cuz I'm still in the midst of it, but basically just it's so inspiring and what a thing to think about and yeah, I'll stop now). Anyways, I guess you already kinda know me but I'm Celine, it's nice to meet you! Yay, new word (it sounds a bit like "crucial verbalist", which is cool too!)!! I will make sure to listen to that artist you mentioned, I like all music, and yay creative writing and poetry and unfinished story projects!! What kind of dog? I used to have a Pyrenees mix and he was so sweet and loving and gentle... *sigh* What are your favorite books? I play cello and piano, it's awesome you play guitar! Excited that you decided to join too!!

Hey Celine! Ha, yeah, my location (which I came up with on a whim) is pretty inspiring for me, too...I think I'm going to end up writing a poem about it. (:
I have a poodle mix. Your dog sounds wonderful, Pyreneeses are so cute! Big dogs are usually so calm, but mine is quite the opposite. I don't really have a favorite book right now, but I like most things I read. Looking forward to getting to know you!

OH GOSH HI!! I'm Hex, any pronouns. I love your name! It's one of my favorite words—I'm definitely a cruciverbalist. I'm not great at solving them, but I've created a few, and keep meaning to submit them to the New York Times, if I can figure out how to get the right file format. I also do the Spelling Bee almost every day—do you? What board games do you like? My family—and me—are total board game nuts :D Anyway, welcome to the CB!

Hi Hex!! Cruciverbalist is definitely one of my favorite words too, and it's great to meet another one! That's so cool that you've made crosswords before...I can imagine how much effort and time that would take. :) I love the Spelling Bee too, and do the daily puzzle almost every day! My family also loves board game—we especially got into them during the pandemic. We like a lot of games but most recently we've been playing Wingspan. What board games do you like?

Yeah! I use a software that really helps with word generation, but it's still a lot of work + hours. I know Wingspan, although I don't play it too much—I feel like you don't start with enough resources and then you spend the whole game struggling to build an economy, but never actually succeeding. I've heard that the expansions are a lot better at that, but never played any of them—have you? I play a lot of Terraforming Mars (...terraforming mars), Feast for Odin (vikings! pillaging! raising livestock!), Dune: Imperium (literally Dune as a board game), and lately have been playing Twilight Struggle (basically a re-enactment of the Cold War! It's really interesting~).

I haven't played any of the Wingspan expansions yet but I want to! Those games all sound really interesting. One of my friends really likes Terraforming Mars, but I haven't gotten around to trying it yet. (:

I play crosswords a lot during class (shh) when I get bored (which is a lot), mostly the Washington Post ones, although I'm kind of bad at them. Hope to see you around here :)
