First off, happy (almost) birthday!! 

Happy early birthday!!!!!! Also yeah I totally get you. Im turning 16 in like a week and I'm so creeped out like I'm gonna be able to drive AND I'm half way to 32! I remember when I turned 13. I also did not want to be 13. But as the year went on, I realized it really isn't so bad, being a teenager. There are many things that suck about being 13 and being a teenager, but there are also a lot of really nice things! Little kids look up to you, and if you set a good example you will feel really fulfilled and accomplished. You can babysit (and if you were allowed to babysit before you can babysit later now) You get a lot more independence and you will be taken much more seriously than adults! 
Anyway Haopy birthday and I hope 13 works for you! If you ever have a hard time with teenagering, the CB will always be here for you and I'm positive everyone will listen and try to help you! :)

Happy early birthday *throws eco-friendly confetti in the usual CB tradition* And, well, I know how milestone birthdays feel - I've often felt like Oh dear, but this year was so nice, and this age is so perfect, and I don't want to leave it behind forever. But what I've found is that I always feel like that; each year seems so much more wonderful than the one that's coming, and then when the coming year's over I find that it was wonderful too, and I never want to leave it. Each year is a little different from the one before, of course, but it happens gradually; just because it's your thirteenth birthday doesn't really mean you're any different from yesterday when you were twelve. Maybe there'll be new responsibilities, and new ways of thinking, and new ways of looking at the world; and there'll be good things and bad things, of course; but there will be good things, and in the end you'll probably love the year as a whole and never want to turn fourteen. Becoming a teenager is, well, a big thing, definitely; but, as I said before, your world probably won't change all at once, and in the end I think we'd all develop and change whether we measured our years or not, so "becoming a teenager" just means that you're getting older, and in the end when we "become teenagers" we've already been getting older from before.

thx for the advice everyone! so far today has been really fun, even if my brother greeted me by saying "happy birthday to you, you live in a zoo, you smell like a monkey, and you look like one too."

I always feel the same way when it's my birthday... I never want to get any older than I currently am. But in the end I always get used to it, and hopefully you will too :)

If it's becoming a teenager you're worried about - well, I know this isn't a commonly held viewpoint, but being a teenager is SUPER FUN. It really is! You get more responsibility and freedom, but you're also young enough to relax and let your parents worry about the really important and confusing stuff. You get to have new experiences, find out more about who you really are, discover new horizons, and gradually "flower" into being an adult. I think it's primarily a time of discovery, which I love about it. Of course, it won't all be easy, but there are so many good parts. The important thing is to just enjoy all the new things that come your way, and the old ones too, without worrying too much about all the traumas that teenagers are supposed, but actually don't (in my experience) have.
