whats up guys i am currently in eighth grade, at move up day (in a school i won't be going to.)

anyone else going into high school next year?

I'm not going into high school, but I am going into junior high (aka middle school). I'm 6th grade right now.

I'm excited, and also terrified, because the high school I'm going to is like a HUGE change from my  middle school -- at my current school, there's like 80 kids in my grade, maybe less, and at my high school, there's gonna be over 300 (i mean, that's not really a *huge* school, but it's still a big change for me). plus, i lowkey hate my middle school because i don't learn ANYTHING but the high school i'm going to has a great academic program.

it's a humanities based school, and you have the option to kind of "major" in either creative writing, journalism, or theater writing -- but they have a strong STEM program too. 

I'm also really excited for clubs and stuff -- clubs are required, so they have a ton of cool stuff. I also really want to play a sport -- probably softball, but fencing looks really cool too.

also also also -- my school has half-day fridays. every friday. so that is probably the thing i'm most looking forward to. 

the only thing that's an issue is the commute...it's either two buses, or a train and two buses but one of them is a slightly shorter ride, and both methods feature rather lengthy walks. it'll be worth it, though :) 

anyway, as you can see, i'm very excited. what are you most excited for in high school, Tsuki (and anyone else)?

I'm going to high school next year, and it is going to be a big change for me too- my current school is really small. Like really small. There are less than 30 kids in my grade. And next year there will be near 400. I'm lowkey overwhelmed about the size change, and if anybody has advice for dealing with large schools, I would love to hear it. I also really enjoyed middle school, and am a little worried about keeping in touch with the friends I made the last few years, even if most of them are going to the same school. High school looks pretty cool from what I have seen so far, but I'm still a little anxious.

I'm also going to be in a creative writing program!!! (different school though, I can tell that, although the school also has half-day fridays--a relief since there's a 9 hour day schedule which will take...adjusting)

I'm nervous about high school because it's my first full time, in-person public school. I've been distance learning for 3 years and now I think it'll be hard getting back to in-person school.

I'm most excited to be able to meet people who share similar interests with me, aside from Chatterbox! (It's an art school, so everyone is creative)

I am going into high school this fall. I live off-grid, not even in a town. I don't play any sports but I play the piano and the flute. My family lives in the largest national park in North America and we own a small business. Currently I am homeschooled, in fact, I have never been to school, private or public. I might be going to boarding school this fall but everything is up in the air. If I was going to a school, I would be excited for a swim team, chess and animal advocates clubs, and making new friends.

I'm going to high school next year! It's the same school though, so I'll know quite a few people and a few teachers. Still, I'll have to meet a LOT of new people, which like yes I would like more friends but also ACKKKKK HELP SOCIALIZING HOW YIKES NO *hides*—. And my best friend is going to a different school, so I'm not sure about how well I'll be able to keep in touch with her :((

But at the same time, I'm really excited! I'm definitely looking forward to the new opportunities—my school has a lot of great STEM programs in particular, which I'm really excited for :D

Woooow. I did not know this many CBers were my age. I'm going to high school in the fall, and I'm worried because it's so separated. In middle school, there are the "honors kids" and the kids who aren't in honors, but there are still a lot of classes with both groups. I don't think that'll be the case in high school for me. My parents want me to take honors, and so do I, but I have a lot of friends who won't be in honors so I'm a little sad about that. Anyway, good luck to all of you!
