I'm leaving...
I'm so sorry about this, everyone, but I have to leave. This is for a few reasons:
1. I am very stressed with Japanese finals coming up, as well as from my math class which isn't as good as I thought it was and I chose to do it over the summer when I thought it was good.
2. I'm spending my screen time on other things.
3. I often sneak my phone in even when it isn't screen time, mainly to check on CB, and then my parents get mad at me and give me a talk big-time, so I want to remove the incentive.
4. The ski lodges.
5. My emotional sensitivity. I have Asperger's (self-diagnosed and parent-diagnosed, but not formal) as well as 2E (self-diagnosed and parent-diagnosed, but not formal), so I have high emotional sensetivity.
6. Because of the delay in posting, I often worry about when I will see others' posts. Also, people don't respond too often.
7. I don't think I fit in with the general CB demographic. I am interested in math and physics, which most CBers absolutely hate, and I also like playing Go, and... I generally don't feel like I fit in with everybody.
8. I don't think I am really recognized here. People here look up to Darkvine, Scuttles, and Chaser & Jay, and numerous people. They read what they post, side with them, and actually reply. I don't think that people really recognize me or read my posts fully.
9. When people don't respond, I think that they don't really care about me. See #8 and #5.
10. I feel that whenever I comment on a post (besides the really popular ones like Random Thoughts/Things), people stop making comments on it. See #8 and #9.
There you go. 10 reasons why I have to leave.
I'm so sorry everyone, but I think this is what's best for me.
I'll always remember the CB, and when my children are 9, I'll give them a subscription to Cricket and tell them about this community (and maybe they can say, "Oh, I'm Golden Lion Tamarin's son/daughter!").
Thank you. Up until now, you have been so supportive, and kind, and give good advice.
I'll definitely remember Valentine's reunion.
I may come back if this quiets down (mainly the ski lodges).

Oh my gosh no GLT!! We'll miss you! I'm sorry to see you go and I want you to know I do read your posts and I do think about you and care about you! You're smart and wonderful and I admire you in a lot of ways. If you think you want to sometime, please come back (no pressure though) especially after finals to tell us how it went.

I just want you to know, that I like math and physics too, and that I do read your posts and admire you in so many ways and I'm sorry if you feel like you don't fit in, or you aren't appreciated—but there's always a place in the CB for you, if you want it. It might not be perfect, but it's here and it's yours if you ever decide to come back—no pressure though. Do what's right for you.

For what it's worth, GLT, I really admire you and I do care about you. I'm really sorry about what I said on the 'Dear all CBers' thread -- it was never my intention to make you feel singled out, like people don't care about you and your feelings, or like you didn't fit in with the rest of the CBers. I'm should have considered my words -- and your side of the argument -- more carefully and been less forceful with my argument. I feel awful that this conflict, and my response to it, is part of the reason you're leaving.
I'm sorry you don't feel like you fit in here, and I'll be sad to see you go. Remember you always have a place here, and if you ever feel the need to come back, we'll be here.
I'm sure you'll do great things in your life, GLT, and I hope you find your people, even if they aren't us.

Aww, GLT! CB is a place for everybody's opinions. I'm sorry it hasn't felt welcoming to yours, but please know that even if we may sometimes have disagreeing opinions I still respect yours and I'm reasonably sure everybody else does to.
Also, there's nothing wrong with being different! Everybody is different. I like math and science (although I prefer biology over physics, but physics is still cool) too, and so do a lot of other people! Sure, I might grumble about rational equations or exponential functions sometimes, but I still love it, and I think the same goes for lots of other people. I admit I don't know much about Go and I don't think many other CBers do either, but I still think it's interesting. I remember reading an article about how Google made an AI that could play Go, and it I remember thinking it was really cool. I think it's amazing how it's such an incredibly complicated game using only two colors of stones and a 19x19 grid.
I can see how the first three things you listed could make it difficult to spend as much time on CB as you used to, but please don't be a stranger! I hope you'll still check on CB sometimes and pop by to say hi every now and then, not just during the reunion. It's possible to become less active on CB without leaving it entirely, and I hope that's what you'll choose, although you should of course do what feels right for you.
Also, to speak to numbers 8, 9, and 10, sometimes it's difficult to always remember to respond to everything with the way CB works. And sometimes chat threads or things like that just die because you've run out of things to talk about, but just because the other person might not share that many interests with you doesn't mean they don't care about you! I hope you'll be able to keep that in mind if you ever decide to come back to CB. As for numbers 8 and 10, you might feel that way but it's not true! We see you, and we care about you even if we don't always agree, and sometimes threads just die but it has nothing to do with you!
I hope you'll consider coming back to CB sometime in the future, maybe once things at school with your Japanese finals and your math class have calmed down

Ive decided I'll stop being super active until the ski lodge drama, as well as my Japanese, calms down, and until then become more of "a past CBer who likes to post occasionally".
