Yes yes yesss!!!

I haven't really written any of their stories down, but i've got the basic ideas. So... here's some info!!

- Tempest was born an elf, and in my version of elf society, shapeshifting is something elves can be born with, but it's very, very rare. As in once every hundred years rare. And it wasn't seen as a good thing- more like a parisite. So when Tempest "discovered" his power, obviously that put him and his family in danger.

- Cassidy has a sister named Calypso, but they avoid all contact.

- Ronin's parents are witches and he probably cast a few spells if he had a wand on hand

- Dawn was basicly the only older person in Tempest's early life; ae had to grow up very quickly. Their parents were so worried about them that they weren't really THERE for them, yk?

and a few songs~

- This Is Home by Cavetown reminds me of both Cassidy and Tempest. For Tempest it's basically... all of it. For Cassidy it's only really the lyrics "Often I am upset that I cannot fall in love but I geuss that avoids the stress of falling out of it" and "I'll cut my hair, to make you stare"

- Escapism from Steven Universe reminds me a bit of Cassidy? I'm not sure though.

The only one I really know is Ellerie.

Ellerie was taken at a young age to a cabin in the woods. Then follows a sort of Cinderella story- she was a servant to whomever lived there ((named Chris by me)) and escaped to where she lives now eventually. I feel like she'd only trust Tempest with that info but oh well guess it's out there now.

Lots of songs remind me of my AEs. Heather by Conan Gray and Broken by lovelytheband remind me of Ellerie. That Girl by Emei and This is Why by Paramore reminds me of Meg. For The First Time by The Script is Five.  

I've known Chai's story the longest, but only recently has it truly been developed properly. Our sweet, sunny girl actually has a good amount of hatred for her biological family. This is not without reason, considering they're the reason she had to grow up floating from an orphanage to the streets to foster care (where a number of foster families sent her back to the system because she "wasn't a good fit for them," or, y'know, just too loud and weird for them). Her family didn't abandon her because they, say, couldn't afford to take care of her, or because they were separated in a tragic accident, or because they died - no, they just didn't want her. "/They were too good for me.\" She has a name she was born with, but got rid of it and renamed herself Chai. This felt to her like she was saying "I don't need you, and you don't get to decide who I am when you never even got to know me." She also doesn't celebrate her birthday on the day she was actually born, because she feels a birthday is more about celebrating the person's life, not the day they were born, and the day she was born, her life was definitely not celebrated.

I'm back!

So Ever's backstory is pretty interesting too. He lived in a small town with his grandma after his parents passed away. When he lost his grandma, he sort of ended up on his own. He opened a small shop to get money, but when that shop was robbed, he fell into bankruptcy and ended up alone on the streets. He was homeless for a while, until he came across a cabin in the woods (yes, the one ellerie was in). He asked for help but met a similar fate to Ellerie (although, his was much less gruesome) and he was the one who helped her later escape. They did get separated- he found his way to the place he lives now first, while she entered a small, remote city with little connection to the outside world. Ellerie had no money and no strength, but this town was nice enough to somewhat take her in. Her wounds (now scars) were healed and she rested, she also had a small day job at a supermarket. This city was close to the beach, and when a hurricane hit, she ended up looking for shelter and finding Ever outside (he didn't know about the hurricane) and he led her to where they both live now.

I don't have a playlist for Ever, but I have one for Ellerie!

I kinda need a backstory for Meg and Five. Pretty sure I have some ideas but not quite enough.

Maybe Meg had super strict parents. She had to hide stuff under the floorboards and behind the bookshelf in her room that her parents wouldn't approve of. She could never be herself and just ran away. Maybe.

AE LORE!!

I have some AE lore, but not alot. Hour and Agua have the most detailed lore, so this might take a while...

AGUA'SSSS...beacuse this bean needs more love!

Agua is the heir to the throne, of an underwater kingdom. Although, his parents find him to week to acually rule well. He want to prove them wrong, but doesn't think he has enough courage too. 

He has one younger sister, named Coral. Who thinks he is a bit of a wimp, but loves him all in all. Coral is a bit like Mhaya in the smarts department, but alot like Strawberry in the personality department.

Agua meet Hour under a blue moon, while exploring the upper world. He felt he could talk to her, when other were hard to talk to. Agua and Hour planned times to hang out, and soon fell in love. But, Agua's parents didn't want him marrying someone who wasn't underwater folk. So he rebeled and ranaway from home. His parents were angry, and are cosntantly trying to get him back. So he's almost always with some, so they don't take him in seacret.

How is this the first time I'm seeing this thread?? But yessss AE lore :DD

okay we'll start with Koi~

When Koi was younger, she was a witch’s familiar (I’m thinking maybe at a school for witches or something?) but she was afraid of heights and bright lights and snakes and spiders (all of which she had to deal with on a regular basis) so she escaped. After wandering through the woods and countryside for quite some time, she happened across Pangolin’s house, which had a huge garden out back. Koi went into the garden to sleep, and when she awoke, Pangolin was staring down at her. The cat obviously needed a home, so Pangolin took her in and named her Koi after the orange and white splotches on her coat, which are similar to a koi fish’s markings.

And here's Barnacle~

Barnacle’s parents are a duke and duchess (yes technically Barnacle is/was a duke...) and Barnacle is their oldest child. However, being the oldest, he inherited a century-old curse on the Nieve family which meant that around the time he was ten years old, he developed wings (hazel at the top and fading to cream on the bottom) which honestly doesn’t sound too bad but his parents were mortified. Barnacle rarely got to see visitors to the house (well, mansion, really — it’s on a cliff overlooking the sea) because his parents were embarrassed by him and he didn’t have any friends growing up and his parents sent him to different boarding schools around the world. He kept trying to impress his parents and win their affection by becoming an excellent athlete and student, but they failed to notice or care — plus, (although he was a great student) he kept getting into mischief and talking back to the teachers so he kept getting expelled. Finally, after he got expelled from his fifth school and arrived back home, he got into a massive argument with his parents. Furious, he stormed outside and stood on the cliff overlooking the sea. As he watched the waves crash against the rock, he realized that there was nothing for him at the Nieve Mansion, so he decided to run away. That night, he packed up his belongings (he had a lot of belongings because his family was wealthy, but he only brought the things that actually meant something to him, including his stuffed bunny Cedar [who he cannot sleep without], some books, his sea glass collection, as well as other stuff he’d need) and he flew away. I’m assuming he left some sort of prank or something behind for his family, because that’s his personality. He journeyed for a couple of days, unsure of where he should settle down. He decided to rest, so he climbed a tree in a forest and sat there for a while, wondering what his life would look like now he had run away. At the same time, Pangolin was exploring the woods around her house and she spotted Barnacle in the tree. They called up to him, asking how the weather was up there, and the two started talking. Pangolin realized Barnacle needed a home, and Barnacle realized Pangolin was a pretty nice person, so when Pangolin offered Barnacle a place to stay at her house, Barnacle eagerly agreed, and he’s lived there for over two years now.

And I'm still developing Mirage and Fir, who are my newest AEs. I have a few ideas, which I might share later :)

So for Callum I have little ideas that are sorta scattered

-For one thing, I think my anti-AE, Secunda, was part of Callum's past? I usually picture them as best friends but am starting to wonder if their relationship was actually romantic (which would mean Ronin is not Callum's first crush or love interest, and could complicate Callum's feelings for Ronin bc I'd imagine he'd feel guilty about liking someone new, but idk for sure yet). Secunda wasn't anything like Callum - he was fun, lively, and willing to take risks. Secunda made sure Callum wasn't so worried all the time he didn't live, and Callum made sure Secunda didn't get in over his head. The two were inseparable, until Secunda died but idk for sure how or why that happened, just that Secunda died

-Callum went to some sort of fancy boarding school with Secunda, where they learned fancy stuff like ballroom dancing, classical music, that fancy dining room nonsense where there's like five different forks, that kind of thing. 

-Which I guess means Callum comes from a wealthier background 

So idk all of that's a WIP but yeah I'll figure it out eventually maybe

I need to work on my AE lore... I've got some stuff for Skree but I have no idea what Friendo's backstory is and any ideas I come up with just don't seem to fit.

All I'm saying is Killer Queen by Mad Tsai reminds me a lot of Calypso, aka Cassidy's older sister. Even the queen part (wink wink).

MY TIME HAS COME- Seriously, I have a problem with giving OCs extremely intricate backstories.

-Kya's backstory is basically the first half of the Little Mermaid.  They're a siren who was extremely curious about the mortal world but forbidden from going too close to shore.  Rebelling against their elders' wishes, they used forbidden magic to gain the ability to walk on the surface.

-Basil is a fallen angel, cast down to earth by a celestial god after he sympathized with the suffering of humanity.  Now he searches for a cure to this struggle and carries a silent vendetta against the god who exiled him.

-Clove is the daughter of a human and a fae.  She grew up in a cottage in the woods with her parents, her human mother teaching her the ways of the forest and her fae mother teaching her enchantments of nature and light.

Saffron, Rue and Aster's backstories are much less developed but I'll share bits of them too, why not.

-Saffron is currently an extremely successful and influential celebrity specializing in acting in fashion, having risen to the top from extreme poverty.

-Rue is the youngest descendant of a godlike dragon king.  While this lineage is near-undetectable after milennia, they are blessed (or cursed?) with visions of the future.

-Aster ran away from home after commiting a heinous crime and was taken in by a dark sorcerer who basically treated him like a glorified slave.  Once he'd learned enough magic to defend himself, Aster escaped and set out on his own.
