Spring Birds/Wildlife/ Baby Animal Log!

Yay lizards, it's spring! Let's appreciate nature by taking the time to log some animals you see!

March 23, 2023 - Morning, 7:40ish on the bus route

- 14+ American robins in a small tree. They were all perched together because it snowed last night.

- 2 crows gliding on the wind along the ground in a field

- A small bird, probably a chickadee or wren, flying

- 2 unknown grey birds with black wingtips, probably some sort of dove, flying

Turkeys turkeys sooooo many turkeys. My neighborhood is overrun by turkeys. I've seen at least 35+ the last three days. They like to hang out in my friend's yard, so every time I go over there, there's a bunch more turkeys.

Today I saw 2 male Red-winged Blackbirds, two black pigeons, a hawk (Red-tailed Hawk?), lots of Canada Geese, and probably snow geese flying north.

Congratulations! You found the Spring Egg! To claim your point, take a creative spin on a classic spring idiom by filling in the blanks: "April _____ bring May _____" and posting it on the Egg Hunt thread!

Even though it's not spring anymore (sniff sniff) there's still a lot of summer wildlife! Poinsettia, I also saw a super adorable groundhog! But that was a couple weeks ago... I've also been hearing a lot of mourning doves, and my cat likes to intensely stare at two crows (who I've named Charlotte and Charlie) who sit at the very top of the tree outside my house. Yesterday, I was at a surf camp (where I didn't do much surfing because I've had a traumatic almost-drowning surfing experience in two feet deep water... but still!). Anyway, the point is- there was a very long- necked black bird with an orange beak who popped their head out of the waves every once in a while. I think they went underwater to catch fish. Does anybody know what bird they were? Oh, we also saw an adorable seal who was riding the waves about five feet away from us!!!!!! Cuteness overload.

Happy animal observing!
