Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Stupid events we

Stupid events we regret! Okay, I know that everyone is embarrassed by something they've done. I am not talking about messing things up with your crush or saying something stupid to your friend. I'm talking about one of the stupidest things. Here's just one of  my stories:

Okay, I have to give you the reason first. This girl Mady and her family were renting a house, but the owner kicked them out and put the house up for rent again. He wouldn't let them try to buy it back.. don't know why, but unfair, isn't it? So when my friend who was her neighbor, asked Mady and me to spend the night and wanted to play a prank on the neighbors, I was like, okay, sure! (total lack of judgment) I would've never of guessed about the mess we were about to get ourselves into... I apoligize for my recklessness, admins and fellow Chatterboxers...

So at maybe ten we snuck out and pulled the For Rent sign out of the yard. (This was the second time they had done this.) The light turned on in their house, and my friend Pam screamed, "Run for it!" We sprinted until we were by her creek and fell to our knees, exhausted. We were sure the man hadn't seen us. So we dumped the For Rent sign in the sewer and the metal part in the creek, and headed back to Pam's. In the morning, Mady went home early, and Pam and I were brushing our teeth when the doorbell rang! It was a policman! He wanted to see Pam's mom and Pam said to him, "We didn't do anything!" But she did get her mother and she and the policeman talked about recent vandalism in the neighborhood!

"Late last night," he said, "a couple of kids went around the nighborhood and vandalized some property." Pam and I looked at each other, fear stricken. But then we realized he hadn't been talking about us at all! Some rotten teenagers had gone around and played a little mailbox baseball. But still, I had never been so scared, and when the policeman left and I called my mom to tell her, I had a right to be... *gulps at flashback...

See? I'm not the only one. Unfortunately MrsK didn't give us permission to continue, though.

I used to get the "Mary Liz? THE GOOD KID??" reaction a lot. Like when I threw that paper airplane... yeah. (another really embarrassing story) Not so much anymore, though. It may be that I've gotten in too much trouble to be called "the good kid" anymore... Of course, now they call me "the smart one." Hurrrr. I HATE that. HATE IT. /unrelated, rambly rant

You know what (you would like this, Mary Liz ;) )?

When I was in the fourth grade we were actually

allowed to have these paper mailbox-type-thingies

on our desks where we could pass notes on our

spare time and on inside recess and such. It was

so much fun. XD But after awhile, the kids from the

other classes started giving us dirty notes when

they were at our desks while we were in another

class, *rambly* so the teacher made us quit. :(

And it wasn't even our fault! And the weird thing is,

after that, the kids from the other classes (the ones

that got us in trouble) were allowed to have the malbox-

thingies when we weren't! *growls* Unfairness...

Teachers are cruel, aren't they? ;)

(judging by many of those I've known...)

Actually, all my teachers except my last public school one, were really nice.

I realize now, reading all of your posts, how entirely dull it is being a good natured child.  I never played hooky, but it turns out, my mom did it ALL THE STINKIN' TIME!!!!!!!  What the heck?  I passed some notes... but not until third grade, really, and then they were "sweet and innocent"  What ever.  I'm boring, no wonder all my school friends dumped me.  *sulks*

I was always labeled the "good girl" and the  "quiet girl" in public school (and so the teachers naturally loved me *innocent smile* Innocent ), so I never really did anything I thought would get me in trouble. One of the coolest teachers I had was, well, I'll just call him Mr. C. He was my math teacher in the fifth grade, and he would sort of bend the rules sometimes (which is why everyone loved him).

Mr. B, my second grade teacher, was also really nice. One of the strictest I had was Mrs. J, my reading teacher in the fifth grade. She was one of those teachers that made you call her "ma'am" every time you spoke to her, and she looked like a lion. Literally. But, thankfully, she retired the year I left and moved to California. *rambly*

So yeah, some of mine were nice, but most of them were evil. Hehehe.

You lived in Cali?  When?  Where?  Hmm....

Yes, I was always a good child in school, which is why I always try to block out my last few weeks of it....

Me? I wish. *sniffle* No, my evil teacher Mrs. Justice

moved there. To San Diego, actually.

My school has bad luck with science teachers. Last year, we had a guy who forged his teaching license. He's in jail for six years. This year, we get another college graduate. She's actually pretty awesome, because she gets sidetracked and makes jokes. One time, this guy fell asleep in class, and she tiptoes all quietly over to him...and MASS CHAOS! lol, that was so funny.

Haha, I feel sorry for the kid. :)

That's scary about the guy who faked his license... yikes!

Hee hee, totally random, but the anti spam thingy on my last post sounded kinda like iHop, which made me realize, iHop could almost be an Apple product.  It sounds like a pogo stick or something.  :) :) :) :) :)
