I had a guinea pig too, a few years ago... she was so sweet. When she was small and young she liked to sit in her food bowl! But she got too big for that as she grew older. She loved dandelions, and grass, and running around the kitchen in the evenings. And she purred when she was happy! It's amazing that guinea pigs can purr. She used to lick our fingers, too.
She was a little irritable sometimes, but mostly she was really cute and sweet and lovable... She died of old age, very peacefully. @Phoenix Tears, I'm sorry you lost your guinea piggies. *sends hugs* I'd love to hear about them if you want to share.

I currently have one guinea pig, named Nut. I used to have three guinea pigs named Pepper, Salty, and Rumpster.
Salty was basically your average guinea pig, or at least he looked like exactly what people think of when they think "guinea pig." he was an american shorthair, and he had a mostly white coat, with black and tan patches. He loved eating dandelions and, for some strange reason, watching Shaun White snowboard on the television. It just entranced him in a way that nothing else we ever watched did :) He was sweet and silly and playful and up for anything. He loved to just plunk down in the grass and sit there and eat for ages, only moving when he ran out of easily accessible grass.
Pepper was the first guinea pig to pass, and I don't really remember him or have any great pictures of him. He was an abyssinian breed and he was covered in rosettes!! When he groomed his tummy, he looked like a giant pom-pom and it was so funny...
The picture is of Rumpster... augh, I was eight when I named him, okay? 8-year-olds are allowed to name their guinea pigs silly names and ignore the obvious ones... (lookin' at you, Oreo... seriously, the pig's a walking Oreo. How did little me miss this opportunity??)
Rumpster liked cuddling in blankets and ambling outside in the grass. He had one adorable rosette on his head, like many guinea pigs, but his was half black and half white, so he kind of looked like a guinea pig form of Cruella de Vil, which was absolutely hilarious xD I read to all my guinea pigs, but Rumpster was the one who really enjoyed it. When I started to read, he would shuffle over and plunk himself down right next to me, and lay down and just relax. He especially liked Harry Potter.
anyway, yeah! it was nice remembering my piggies :) i'll post a picture of salty after this one.

I love how Rumpster has a strawberry top on his back :)

yeah, one day they were eating strawberries and I thought the tops kinda looked like little hats so I put one on him and it was adorable :)

Fish have been the only pets I've ever had, and my innumerable fishy friends joined the giant fishbowl in the sky long ago. I did have a goldfish that I -uncreatively- named Goldie. He lived for more than a year, which I appreciated since most fish die prematurely in my house. Fish don't quite hold the same sentimental value as guinea pigs or budgies, but for all the animals we've loved and lost: rest in peace, animal friends.

I've only ever had fish, and they don't hold as much sentimental value I suppose, but there was this one fish who we had for 5 years, which is a really long time. It was a black tetra named Stripe, and although its definitely not the same as losing a dog or guinea pig or etc., it was still sad when she finally died of old age.

My cat passed away somewhat peacefully on August 1st, after a long life. She died of illness at age 11, which is like a human dying around 70--not especially uncommon but not especially long-lived either. Her name was RoseCat, nicknamed to Rose and Rosie. I'll post a picture of her with this (if it works.) As you can see, she was quite a pretty cat, and she was also really nice--she never bit or scratched anyone in anger. (Sometimes she dug her claws into people if she was being carried, but she'd not break the skin and she never. Bit. Anyone.) She will always be loved, by me and my parents.
We're so sorry, Seadragon.

This is Daisy, she died a few years ago but she'd been with my family forever. A little bit before I was born. She was getting old and she was hurting and didn't want her to suffer any more so we had to put her down. She was super sweet and never bit or barked. I wish there was more we could have done for her but like I said we didn't want her to suffer any more. But she was and is well loved by my family and I forever. <3 <3 <3
