a thread for writers to share book reccomendations, writing tips, unfinished things you're not completely happy with, and ways to slay the infamous beast known as writer's block.
(now that I think about it this should probably be on Inkwell... eh)

Help help help
I have a bit of writer's block - I find myself unable to write anything except short scenes which absolutely refuse to hang together to create a proper story (even though my imagination is still happily imagining things and things and THINGS). I suppose I could just stop writing for a while, but writing ris really a part of me, and I'm not sure what I'd do if I didn't write.
Any suggestions? Any at all?

often when I have writer's block, I read everything I've already written so far, and just imagine what seems right to come next. I also brainstorm character development and comic relief.
honestly, having interesting characters in an interesting world helps boost my inspiration forward. sometimes it feels like I'm reading a book instead of writing one!
and, most of all, I look forward and daydream about when I will finally get a book published. that helps me stay focused on writing.
if I feel devoid of inspiration, I just write, even if it's really flat and boring. eventually I pick up steam and get going, then come back and fix the boring bit.
hope this helped!

whoa this sounds so much like what I do when I write!! It really does feel sometimes like I'm reading a book, not writing it. And I've often found myself stubbornly pushing onward with a story, and suddenly re-finding my inspiration. Anyway, it just struck me as interesting that we're so similar in our writing habits :)

Hello fellow writers! I'm in a bit of a situation right now, and could use some advice. To put it simply, I have too many ideas and not enough time or motivation. I started a novel back in November but got distracted and have only written two chapters, have another long-form story that I've planned but can't find the motivation to start, and two story ideas that I really want to write too. What do I do???

Same, kind of? I have too many random and very undeveloped ideas that I never get around to starting, but they are kind of cool. Some of them. And then I have a few ideas that I started and lost momentum on. I have slightly a random style for stuff like this—I mostly start with worldbuilding and don't worry about plot until I've started writing, at which point I realize I probably should have worried about it... and then I get distracted...

Anyone feel like making suggestions for this story my friend and I are working on?

Sure, I'd be happy to help! What's it about?
Poinsettia, I want you to know that we've received your comment with queries about the writing of a ski lodge. It is under consideration if we want to add a response from Admin or not. It will likely not be posted until sometime on Tuesday. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Oh, OK! Thank you for telling me!

Yeah, why not! I'm better at grammar-type feedback, but I can try with whatever.
