Today absolutely sucked.

I was on my way to our fort-in-the-woods behind our city's playground with Ezra when these creepy teenagers showed up and blocked our way. Liam was gone--working at the local mochi place--so he couldn't help us. I mean, I would totally beat them up if I was strong enough to--but these guys were TALL. 

"Oh, look at these two little babies," they said. "Are you heading to the playground, to play in the sandbox?"

My face burned with humiliation--it's not like we're too old to go to the playground, but that's not where we were heading. So of course, it was frustrating--and the teenagers (they were around seventeen) could TOTALLY see that.

"Look, just let us go through. It's none of your business where we're going," I said, biting my tongue to make sure I didn't start screaming at them.

"Oh, really?" The big one said, shoving me onto the pavement.

"<Hey!>" Ezra said, glaring at them. "<Don't touch her.>" Ezra's usually passive-agressive--but not when it comes to bullies. He's not afraid to stand up to people.

"Leave us alone," I snarled. "Get out of our way."

"Make me." The ringleader smirked down at me and pushed Ezra down.

Well, I snapped. He crossed the line when he pushed me down, but to push me AND my twin brother down?

"DON'T YOU DARE!" I snarled, grabbing the front of the teenager's shirt and clambering onto him to put him in a headlock. Not my smartest decision, but it definitely shocked him.

"HEY!" he exclaimed, wrestling me off.

Then, Ezra and the rest of the teenagers joined the fight.

"<LEAVE US ALONE!>" Ezra shouted.

Suddenly, Liam came flying out of nowhere and put himself between us and the teenagers.

"Whoa-whoa-whoa, what's going on? Don't you realize how cowardly it is to attack a bunch of kids?"

"They're not worth the trouble," the ringleader said, brushing himself off and giving me one last shove--which earned him a stern glare from Liam.

That's how it started, and that's how it ended. Of course, Ezra and I--but specifically me--got a stern talking-to from Liam. AND THEN ANOTHER FROM ECHO.

Ezra was really brave, and so was Liam. Echo, too. It's nice of them to care.

BUT. I was still mad, so for the rest of the day, I sat on my bed, munching Pillsbury Cookies (made by Benji, of course) and listening to K-Pop songs.

*~Today Callum and I went on an adventure together. Peri says I need to get out more, and volunteered Callum to go with me to the park for a walk. I'm a little frightened of him - he's kind of snappy and mean - but he knows the local park better than the rest of us because he works at the coffee shop just across the street from it, and, for some reason, he agreeed to bring me.~*

*~When we got to the park, we started on a path through it. It's a really nice park, actually, and I was happy. But then Callum pulled me off the path for a minute to a clearing full of deer and birds. A bright red bird flew by, and he pointed it out.~*

*~"Look," he said, and I swear he was smiling. "That's a cardinal. They're my favorite kind of bird. If it ever snows, we'll have to come back here - cardinals look so cool, surrounded by snow."~*

*~He noticed me noticing him smiling, and quickly stopped. "But anyway, we should head back home. It will be time for dinner soon."~*

*~Since then, though, Callum's been a lot less mean to me. I'm pretty sure I'm friends with him now. Who would have thought?~* 

Callum

Today I've got a shift at the coffee shop, so I quickly get up and ready to go. For some unexplainable reason, I'm in a good mood. I've got this feeling, like something good is going to happen today. I don't know. Maybe that's stupid.

Anyway, I decide to wear a light pink polo and jeans - a more casual outfit of mine, and one of my favorites - and put on my earrings. I do a little makeup (just blush and mascara, I like how it looks), grab my messenger bag, and head downstairs for breakfast, where Chai is "helping" Quinn make pancakes. 

"*Good morning,*" Quinn sighs as Chai burns a pancake for what the large pile of burnt pancakes sitting on the counter suggests is the fifteenth time. 

"/Sorry,\" Chai says. "/I swear I'll get it this time.\" 

I decide that I will not be eating pancakes today and instead grab a few hard boiled eggs from the fridge - quick and easy. Then, not eager to watch Chai fail to properly cook a pancake any longer than I have to, I head out the door to town. 

I've got a bike I take to work every day, even though I could really just walk. It's only a few blocks away. I like riding my bike, though, especially down hills. It's exciting and calming at the same time, somehow. I ride down a few hills and past some shops, then come to a stop at a bike rack just down the street from the coffee place. After securing my bike on the rack, I walk into the shop. 

"Good morning," I say to Thea, one of the other baristas at the shop. Thea works the super early and super late shifts. We open at five, and she handles customers until nine, when my shift starts and she goes home. 

"Hey," she says, already starting to leave. "Carley's a little extra annoying today, just FYI. But don't let her fool you - she totally did order an americano." 

"Okay, thanks," I say, waving goodbye. I head behind the counter and start taking orders from whoever comes in. But about thirty minutes into my shift, a boy walks in. He looks vaguely familiar- I think he's an AE - oh wait.

Nope. Yep. I know who this is.

This is that AE. I don't actually remember his name because I was so in awe when I first saw him that I didn't hear it when Peri told me. I mean, look at him. He's cool, way to cool for someone like me to get a chance to talk to outside of taking his order. We make eye contact, and I feel my ears go pink and a bunch of butterflies float around in my stomach.

I went to the Library today. It was fun. But, Mhaya came with me. So that sucked. But Lore gave me some money to buy some sweet bread from the Bakery he likes. I saw a bunny on my way to his house. Cori, Fern, Tigerlily, Clem and I are staying there for now. He has a really nice house. It tall, it has alot of rooms. Most of them bare, although. Alot of them have uses. He has a stargtazing room. A plant room. A library and so on. Although. He has no rugs. So my feet get cold. I don't like it...

I think there's some other child AEs. I don't really know. I like hanging out with Lore. When He's around. He works at a game store. So we play Street Brawlers. I like to play as Chin Lue. She has spiky buns! 

Mr Bob is a funny dog. He's slow to move, btu he's big and fluffy. AND I CAN RIDE HIM! So I love him. Cori says they only named him Mr Bob because he found it funny. Hmm. I wonder if any other AEs have pets..or dogs...WE COULD GO TO THE DOG PARK!
