AE Christmas party (also, an intro for a new AE)
Aaaah....Christmas...meh. It's cold and thing oriented. But, my AEs insisted. I also wanted to introduce my new AE..or well. She's not so new. If you joined the new(ish) Boarding School RP. You may know Kamryn O,Conner. I really liked her, and didn't wan't just.....leave her. Sooo. Now she's one of my AEs!
Alright, on to the main point. This party is being hosted at the Monnight family house (where else would it be?). This time, it's in the house. I'll post floor plans soon. And a picture of the house, if you need the outside description. Find the AE pool party.

~Ellerie returns the compliment, and asks if I attend many of these parties. "This is my first one, actually," I respond, feeling kind of embarassed. "It's nice so far, though."
They nod. "Yeah, it's nice to meet all the other AEs! Hey, have you been to the ballroom yet? I want to check it out, you can come with me if you want!"
It's very nice of them to ask and I should go, socialize more and all that. But a ballroom means I have to dance, and I really don't want to do that in front of other people. "Thank you, but I'd rather stay here," I tell Ellerie. Since I'm here in the library, I might as well read. I glance over the shelves for something that looks interesting. I hear a girl nearby call for Lord of the Rings and watch the book float into her hands. That's one of my favorite series - maybe I should go over and talk to her. But I don't want to seem weird...

I help Lore with the wires, but I'm distracted by the music playing. Right now it's a Panic at the Disco song. I wonder if it's one Lore likes. My thoughts wander and I find that the knot of cords in my hands are even more of a mess than when I started. I grumble, but when Lore sees it he laughs. "Maybe they're unfixable," he says, effortlessly carefree.
"No, I can figure it out," I tell him. I cannot, in fact, figure it out.
"Hey, don't worry about it." Lore stands up and holds out a hand to me. "This is supposed to be a party, let's go dance or something!"

I'm SO aware I haven't posted on here for a while, but I've been busy. I don't want Maggie to think Mira isn't replying, I'm just letting her and you know that I'm not posting too much on this thread, and haven't had the time to keep up with the party. But FYI, I will try to post Mira's part as soon as possible!

"Your house is really cool!" I tell Strawberry as she pulls me to the food. I grab some with a napkin I take with my free hand, since I'm holding her hand (IM HOLDING HER HAND AND BLUSHING AND I HAVE BUTTERFLIES AND I DONT KNOW WHYYYY). She takes some food too. "So what are we doing now?"

"This song's good. I like it, I guess." Huh. Even when I try to be nice I'm still bitter. "I love more... calm music more, I guess. I like Tate McRae. Have you ever heard of her?"

<Before Meg can reply, another AE joins the conversation. She's attractive-looking, with a turqoise beret and dress, both of which suit her blue eyes and blue hair. She looks about fourteen years old, but sophisticated for her age. Maybe we could be friends, I think to myself.
She answers my question with a happy smile. "Oh, this is one of my favorite songs, actually," she tells me, humming along.
"I like Tate McRae. Have you ever heard of her?" Meg asks. There's just the slightest note of bitterness in her tone, which I find interesting - people who seem different in some way always intrigue me - but I'm too excited about her question to really notice.
"Yes!" I gasp. "I love her songs! I mean, I don't usually go in for calm music, but there's something about hers that... I don't know, it's just irresistible. Do you have a favorite singer?" I turn to the blue-haired AE to draw her into the conversation. "Who's your favorite singer?" Suddenly I realize I don't even know her name. "And by the way, what's your name? I'm Sapphire, Poinsettia's AE.">

I notice a new AE standing next to me. I think her name is Meg? "Oh, I'm sorry!" I exclaim apologetically. "I thought Sapphire was talking to me. Tate McRae is awesome, by the way," I say.
I turn back to Sapphire and respond saying "Can I just have one? I like Bon Jovi, as well as Mariah Carey and Joan Jett. My music taste is kind of all over the place." I and smile at both girls, hoping to make two new friends--they've never been my strongsuit. (HERE'S ME HOPING BOTH ARE FEMALE...)

Before I get a chance to answer, the other girl starts talking, so I wait, but then Sappphire suggests we get food. "Yeah, sure," I say. I mix an uncomfortable smile in. This is more socializing than I usually do in a year.

The snack table is just a few steps away, and I'm still within earshot of Lyra by the time I'm get there, so it isn't as if I've left her without waiting for a reply. I look at the refreshments piled on plates and in bowls. There's cake, fruit salad, and cookies, among other things. It all looks delicious. "What do you guys want?" I ask.>
