HI I AM FINALLY RESPONDING SORRY THAT TOOK SO LONGGGG :(((( I don't have a great excuse... but I really enjoyed talking with you and I hope we can still :)
I went to NY a month or two ago. It was really busy—the conference was exhausting. I was the youngest in my committee and everyone was SCARILY old and good I swear. But it was really fun! I'd never been to NY before. It's really crowded, not just with people, but with noise and vibes and buildings and people. It was cool. I averaged like 5 hours of sleep a night though lol. JAPAN TRIP IS IN TWO WEEKS :DDDDDD IM GOING CRAZY I HAVE TO GIVE A SPEECH IN JAPANESE FRONT OF A WHOLE JAPANSESE SCHOOL EEEEEEEEK *hides under my bed*
Oh, the Lunar Chronicles! I've read the first one. I wasn't crazy about it, I think maybe because I figured out who Cinder really was pretty early on and then I was just kind of waiting for the author to tell me. Maybe I'll give them another try, idk. Recently, I've been reading a lot of Terry Pratchet. He's a great author—very funny, lighthearted, doesn't make a lot of sense. I also finished the Ender's Game trilogy and read Ready Player 1 & 2. I also read The Rook by Daniel O'Malley—great book and the first sentance is amazing...
Whoa! Catterpillars! That's so cool!! Are they butterflies yet? Did you have to make an enclosue for them or something? Tell me about them!!
My dad only goes to the post office once in a while, so I usually get my mag like two-ish weeks late...
Are you doing anything exciting over the summer? I suppose by being homeschooled it isn't as big of a deal—or do you not have class as well? Still, any camps/trips/exciting things?
And have a random question because why not :p what song are you feeling like right now? Or as you read this, I suppose...

I would never survive a trip to NYC and well I'm glad you did! It sounds every bit as chaotic and loud as I imagened.
I am super jealous that you are going to Japan. One of my irl friends is learning japenese as well and she hopes to go someday.
Yeah I figured out who Cinder was right away but I read the entier series and did not regret it. I even bought it! And I'm glad you mentioned all of those books. Now I have more I can go get when I next go to the library!!! :):):)
The caterpillars are butterflies by now and we set them free last week. We keep them in a net once they make their crystalists and then they emerge and we set them free. I believe they are painted lady butterflies
I am not doing anything over the top exciting unless you count swimming every. day. in the lake. Which I've already started doing! I swam on tuesday and wendsday and I am going swimming today with friends. I don't ave any school in the summer. Are you doing anything exciting besides going to Japan?
What song? hmm well right now Dynamite is playing over and over in my head right now buuuut I'm also a bit like Can't stop the feeling. What about you?
And speaking of Dynamite I am obsessed about BTS right now. do you know who they are? If you do who is your fav member?

The butterflies sound really cool! Do you have any pics?
I'd definitely count swimming as something—it sounds so funnnnn :) it'd be really nice to be that close to a lake. I used to swim competitively, but I stopped around the beginning of covid. Aside from Japan (!!!), I have a sleepaway math camp, but that's about it.
mm. I know one of those songs. Hm, right now I'm feeling like I'm Born to Run by American Authors.
I know vaguely what BTS is, but I know approximately nothing about them, sorry. K-pop, right? Do you have a song you reccomend from them?
I won't have time to write back for a while, with the trip and writing a graduation speech (it sucks.) and everything... I'm only writing now because I'm skipping class *heh* (it's only PE tho and I've only done it like 3 times ever in my life, so it's fineeeee ehehehe)
Anyway, bye! I'll tell you about Japan when I get back! Maybe send a few photos, too :)

I think that it is crazy cool how you are going to Japan. isn't it like really expensive?
BTS is k-pop, and they are a boy band. koren. They have very few songs in english, but I don't really mind. Dynamite and Butter I think is all.
That's too bad you haven't been able to write. Maybe soon.
I didn't think about how you will be graduating this summer. Congrats! I hope everything will go smoothly. Why do you have to write a speech? Honestly I'd start out with, "I am only writing this because I have to, and lemme just say, that stinks. But while I'm here...." or something like that hehe

again, not very much—I basically know they exist and that's all lol. but it's pretty unlikely that I'd know what they're saying... songs are so hard to tell, even in english, and my japanese is... not great lol it's so HAAAARD :((

Well I wish you good luck on your speech. I bet it'll be the best! :)
I am learning ASL online from videos. It is actually very easy for me and the person who teaches it is very fun! I know the alphabet and lots and lots of other signs. But there are so many it'll take forever to know and memorize them all.
You know who justin timberlake is right? it so have you heard of NSYNC? he was in the band when he was younger and before he got famous by himself.
I am not reading much. There is this book called YORK that I really enjoyed and cannot wait to get the next book. I am also rereading the kane chronicals. What about you?

Yeah, I know of Justin Timberlake. I think I've heard of NSYNC...? I don't know anything about it though. It sounds cool!
I'm not reading much right now either—life's so b u s y I don't have time :(( I've read the first YORK book. I thought it was okay—it wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad. Have you finished the series by now? Was it good? I've also read the Kane Chronicles, but many years ago. I like Sadie >:) I'm reading Project Hail Mary, from the recommendations of my friends. I'm not crazy about it but it's pretty good and many people really love it. Next lined up for me is Armada, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, the Kaiju Preservation Society, and some others I can't remember right now. I just finished Dune—it was really long but I enjoyed it! It's a classic.
I just watched the Matrix on my flight back last week. Have you seen it? I NEED TO RANT ABOUT THE ENDING...

I will check out all of those books next trip to the library.
I don't watch a lot of anything new so I haven't even heard of Matrix until now. Sorry! you can still rant about the ending bc I probably will never watch it anyway.

I am on page 104 in my book. I is really coming along! I made a summery. It is as follows
Daisy wants to be an EarthWarrior, just like her grandma, and her dad. She doesn't know her dad at all, due to the fact that he went on a mission for FAWE Academy when she was little and never returned. But when Daisy goes to school, she finds that her father has left a trail for her to follow. With the help of her friends, she struggles to keep up and follow. There is also someone at the FAWE school that shouldn't be, and they are trying to stop Daisy from finding her father. On the way Daisy and her friends encounter lots of secrets, most, that should have been left that way. Secrets.
