Hi! that's fine that it's been a while, I understand and remembered that you are now in high school, and it is definetly different :) It sounds just as crazy busy as I imagained
Plant studies is pretty interesting, although I think I've learned most of them (not that I remember a ton, it's not really my thing, but I have stuff written down) I'm not doing it this year. I don't really have a favorite plant, but I have some that I know pretty well. Like plantain, if you chew it to get the juices flowing, and then stick it on a bug bite, it helps the itching. It's a drawing plant, like it sucks out the itchness.

I don't mind sci-fic, but I defiently wouldn't enjoy writing it. Just not my style lol. What sci-fic books have you read?
I'm doing pretty good, though we sold our house last month, and so we have 5 more months to get out. We are looking for houses to move too, but it's been difficult, because we want something so specific, and we don't have a bunch of money to spend, so it's really hard to find something :( But we might have found it! It's a three bedroom house, so I'd get my own room (finally!) even though it looks to be on the smaller side. It's 99 acres, like 40 min from where we want to be, so the drive isn't too too terrible. The property looks like it's all wooded, and it would be SO FUN to just run around, building forts and finding landmarks... The property discription says there are hiking trails, many creeks, and caves! I hope that all of that is actually incuded. We like to be away from cities and out in nature. What do you prefer, country or city?

yup crazy busy just about sums it up :') and I'm also fairly busy on the weekends and after school and homework and my parents don't actually know about the CB and are really strict about screen time so that's awkward haha—
that sounds cool! I don't think it'd be my thing either, but it still sounds really interesting. What is your favorite subject?
I've been recently reading a bunch of classic sci-fi that's a bit older than my usual taste. Stuff like Dune, Ready Player 1 (and 2), Armada, I Robot (well technically I, Robot, but that's confusing bc commas lol), Snow Crash, The Diamond Age, Ender's Game, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Classics! Two of my favorite sci-fi books ever that I might reccommend even if you're not super into the genre are probably The Kaiju Preservation Society and To Say Nothing of the Dog. The first one is about alternate dimensions and kaijus (I don't know if you've heard of them—they're like a mythical Japanese monster thingy), but it's also really funny and pretty short. The second one is about time travel and victorian England—also funny, but in a different way. wow, that was long :P
aww good luck with finding a house!! I moved a few years ago. 99 ACRES :0 THATS HUGE!! I live in a city, but it's not a city-city-CITY like New York or whatever, it's fairly sleepy, so I count property in square meters not acres :) but that sounds awesome! forts! caves! trails! woods! :D I'd say I'd prefer country over city, but if I was going to actually live somewhere when I grow up, I'd choose a quiet city somewhere that's somewhere in-between.
wowzers! lol you've been on the CB for one year now—congrats!! yeah, mine's somewhere january/febuary—I think January 2nd? I missed New Years by one day :P do you remember where your first post was? did you make an intro thread, or just jump in? I think I first posted on the Poetry Contest. I never made an intro thread—I actually joined with the name of another (pretty unactive) CBer by accident and that was awkward lol. I haven't seen them around since then though...

My favorite subject right now is probably ASL, I've really been into it. I try and teach my brother some signs, and he WILL NOT LISTEN AHHHHH. I was like, bro, don't you want to talk without others knowing what you're saying?!?!?! Just doesn't work... How's your brother doing, by the way? He's in collage, right?
That's a lot of sci-fic books! I actually haven't really read any, like, at all, now that I consider. I'll see if my library has any, but chances are, it doesn't because it's LAME and hard has ANY books I look forrrrrr

I only went on Blab about Books area, because the name sort of gave away what it was about. And I felt more comfortable there, so that's where I stayed that day. The thread I posted on was a Keeper of the Lost Cities, made by Tigerqueen, and that's where I first posted. I didn't realize at first that you could just type like this, so I posted in Bold 'cause I thought there was a choice between that and this. I felt like an ididot when I realized JUST TYPE Y'DON'T HAVE TO DO BOLD OR THE OTHER *face palm*
I didn't even know to like, introduce myself, and I didn't even think to do it either. In my defense, the CB was the first time I interacted with ANYONE on line. Like, up until last March, I didn't even use my parent's phone to text friends. So. Was VERY nervous. But eventually, I felt lots more at home. On the KotLC thread, someone said Hi are you new and welcome, (I'll never know who greeted me, they posted as Hi, welcome or something like that)

yeah, he's in a college that's about an hour and a half away from where I live. I probably should see him more but I haven't honestly talked to him since he went back after summer. It's weird to have him grown up. Like I miss who he was 6 (*gasp* wow that's a long time) years ago, when we made marble mazes and did bed-to-bed gynmastics and stuff but not really him from a year or two ago when he was so busy with school and stuff that we didn't really talk either. And now he's even more busy and grown up and stuff and has a girlfriend and yikesssss... he's still nice, but kind of... distant ig??
are you the older sibiling? middle? younger? oldest, right? what's that like?
yes I remember it took y e a r s to find my current house back when we were looking. My family would go tour so many houses and for 9-year old me was pretty fun :)
lol I didn't think to make an intro either so I just kind of jumped on with a *very cringe* poem... the prompt was "glass," I think, and I wrote this short rhyming poem haha
yeah, I hadn't interacted with people online much before that either. I got a phone for high school because I take the train to and from school every day, and need a way to contact parents/friends, but I didn't have that when I joined. I stalked around for a few days first.
ahhh, phones... I keep fighting the urge to be on my phone because it's so awkward to stand around doing nothing sometimes and like word games! read the news! text people! :/ I need better self-control lol. It's still really useful though—you would not believe how many QR codes I've had to scan, or photos I've had to take, or how many times I need to check my schedule or calendar... You don't have a phone, right?
it's been a while since I've written anything without a prompt, bc lack of motivation + time, but I wrote an iambic pentameter poem for my English class about the odyssey of each day. I first wrote it in blank verse before realizing it should've had a meter or rhyme scheme, so I spent like 20 min trying to get it into iambic pentameter at like 10 the night before it was due :P I'm fairly happy with how it turned out, though.
oh gosh my English teacher... XD she gave us like a 40 min lecture on her "RuLeS fOr EnGlIsH :0" and seems like a pretty strict grader. No contractions, no "fluff," no informal language, etc... and most of it makes sense, but she graded my essay and got annoyed when I used ONE CONTRACTION and ONE INFORMAL WORD so that was kind of annoying...
yes constantly XD I need to stop— and there are certain things y'all do online that some of my irl friends do and I'm like wAiT CAN IT BE— but I don't think I know anyone on the CB except people I've introduced to it—Eclipse and Marethyu, mostly. Do you know anyone on the CB irl?

Another random question- so what's the deal with "when pigs fly?" I don't rly get it since no other animals except like birds can fly. And why can't it be when elephants fly? There's like no reasoning to it.
Also - sorta irl appearance bc the maker has limitations! I'm proud of it, tho irl I actually have teal-blue glasses with a lot of sparkles and glitter on the sides...yea that's what I chose when I got my glasses....

Hi! so sorry I have been super busy.... I'm here now :) and it feel terrrible bc I have two other group chats that I haven't posted on either.... One with Peri, and one with Celine. Which I love!! but dang, Celine writes so long, then I write so long, and it cracks me up because I usually write sorta short.... but when I answer her, my reply is 3 miles long XD
Well, I'm basically the oldest, but I have a step brother who is 20 years older than me, is married, has a son, and lives in in a far state. I've only known him about 7 years, and it's not like he was still living with my dad when my mom met him, so yeah, basically oldest. Being oldest is nice, but it also carries more responsibility, like having to watch out for sibs when out and about, watching them when parents aren't around, and stuff like that. Y'know, cleaning up their messes and getting food for them (but my 8 yr old brother should be MORE than capable for cleaning up and getting food- he somehow worms his way out most the time grrrr) so yeah

I don't think I know anyone on the CB. I mean, I can think of like one person who would enjoy it when I lived in California, but idk if she's on her. It would be cool if she was. And I don't think I've seen those people on here.. are they not very active or don't go on here anymore?

yeah I can imagine being the older sibiling is hard. I'm a proud annoying younger sibiling haha. I always tried to get my brother in trouble, but he did the same to me so ig it was fair? It's really annoying when my brother gets something five years before me—like he had a phone for a few years before I got mine, and he has much more freedom and stuff which is very annoying at times. I get along with him more now, although we talk a lot less. You sound like a great older sister lol
yeah, I get Cricket. I've never tried one of the contests, although maybe I should. I know you have—I remember you getting first or second on a poetry contest, I think. I don't remember seeing this month's Cricket—it's possible I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet tho lol. I'll look for the math poem when I do find and read it.
slime is okay—I don't realy care about it one way or another. I prefer stuff that stays in shapes instead of just a gelatinous blob—like putty or clay or smth, but I'm okay with slime. My go-to fidget is a pen, which must be annoying to everyone I sit next to XD and my hands are always partially covered in pen or notes or something...
I think when pigs fly is supposed to mean like something that'll never happen. I think it's etymologically derived from a scottish proverb, but it probably got popular from other situations—like I believe it's used in Alice in Wonderland.

I don't think so? I haven't noticed, but I might just not be paying attention... we had a heat spell for a few days recently, but now it's about 70-ish. (WHO KNEW WE OWNED EIGHT THOUSAND SALAD PLATES?) (ok I had to look up that lyric but I knew what you were referencing lol) Do you get snow? I don't, unfortunately... it's been years since I've seen snow!

I don't get snow here really, since I'm down south (so sad. I used to get snow at least once or twice a year where I lived before.)
How was your Halloween? I had fun, I went to a sort party, it was mostly just a home school get together with just the teens. we watched a movie, House on haunted hill, pretty old movie, you could see that the special effects were fake. But it was alright :)
My mom just invites some younger friends over like my brothers ages and she'll read a poem or something and then have a trinket to go along with it. But my brothers and I get a small bucket of NATURAL candy. We have allergies, mostly my brothers tho I can't have red dye, so that's why we don't go trick or treating.
Ha XD no, not the CBer lol. I had fun with my costume tho! I had a cloak and then I wore one of my dad's old white shirts. It's long on me, so I just tied a silk scarf around my waist and it looked like a tunic.
