Meg-

I always forget how boring the moments before a party are.

Well, at least for me they are. The decorations and food have been ready since this morning, the music has been for an hour, and our costumes since thirty minutes ago. It's really fun to the the wizard of Oz gang, but yet a bit strange. Cause, well, Ellerie's nothing like the wicked witch and I'm nothing like Glinda.

Ellerie and I stand in front of her bathroom mirror, kind of getting ourselves together. She keeps messing with her hair (an annoying habit of hers), and I think she's gonna end up just braiding it like usual. I'm more worried about my dress. I like pink, but not fluffy. And a gown isn't exactly my thing. It was smart of Ellerie to just go for a black party dress sort of thing. I should've done that, except in pink.

Much too late now. "Gonna prank people?" I ask Ellerie. She smiles at me, ":More than likely. It may take some time to decide who, though. I need to find the easy scares.:" She's pretty good at pranking and jump scaring people. I keep telling her she should work somewhere like Knott's scary farm, but she only likes scaring her friends. I can't scare people. I try, but everyone just says I'm too cute and small to scare them. It may be one of the worst things people say to me. 

"Meg!" Ever calls from downstairs. "El! Guests are coming!" Ellerie and I walk downstairs, meeting Shawn and Starli halfway down. We open the front door and back door so people can come inside.

And here's the boring part: we wait.

I'm tempted to give them all hugs before running after him, but Peri is holding a tight grip on my arm. "Hi!" She says. "I'm Periwinkle, and this is Chai. The one who just wandered through the door was Vo. Sorry about that, by the way. Thank you for having us." I escape Peri's grip at last and rush excitedly through the door. "/This is gonna be awesome!\" I declare.\
