Hello all, my
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Hello all, my
Hello all, my name is Starry Eliza K. I am new to this website, but it looks like great fun. I was raised and born in N.Y.C, and I love it. The bright lights and shopping sites are perfect for me.
I'm a bit of a poet, and I know that everyone in the world can write good poetry or stories. I also pride myself in my fashion, I am very modern in my style, and I am a big critic on people that mismatch or clash. I find it very hard to believe that you can't at least spend ten minutes on an outfit! It's just lazy to show up somewhere in a t-shirt and jeans that need to be washed or ironed.
I know that I will love it here, and I hope you all love me! Remember my name, Starry Eliza K., for you will soon be seeing it in bright city lights.
Love, and hugs, Starry.

I agree with you on the fashion thing!!! :) Hi, I'm R~D~. Welcome! I hope you stay!!!!

Well, I surely will. It already looks like I've found a friend. Pleased to meet you. What is your favorite store to shop in? Mine is forever21. The things are so inexpensive, and yet so fabulous.
Love, and Hug, Starry.

Hi Starry! I'm Hannah P. What books, movies, color, music etc. do you like?
P.S. If we're a bit goofy, please don't run away.
P.P.S. I don't wear jeans.
(October 31, 2009 - 8:20 pm)
Hmm, I like many books and movies. My favorite colors are grey and purple, and my music style is classical or pop.

I don't understand how people can care so much about the way they look. It's fine if you want to take forever to get an outfit together, but it's wrong to judge people on what they wear! Besides, some people can't afford decent clothes, and won't go around telling people that, so you wouldn't know! It's not their fault! You never know what might be going on in someone's life!
Besides washing, ironing, etc, I never spend more than 10 minutes on an outfit and rarely even that. Does that make me a horrible person? I just don't see why it's so important to look perfect all of the time when there are better things to do!
Something that clashes to your eyes might look wonderful to someone else. That doesn't make them wrong! Some people just happen to have different taste than yours, that's all!
Please don't take offense at this comment.

Believe it or not, there are many fantastic places to get decent clothes for a low cost. It's how much people care. Now, I understand someone in a homeless situation or super-low budget, but if they can buy chocolates for themself, they can take time to dress up.

Thankyou Gloworm, I agree completely.
(November 1, 2009 - 2:11 pm)
Please dont be offended at what I just said though Ima. This is for you and Starry to discuss.
(October 31, 2009 - 11:50 pm)
No offence Starry, but I agree with Ima. I wear rather casual clothes pretty much all the time. You know jeans can be pretty snazy with a dress shirt and a thin fabric scarf. Anyway welcome to CB!! :D
PS I think the reason we disagree is because we were raised in completely different places, for example I was raised in Wisconsin living next door to a farm. (now I live in Erie PA)

Makenzie, I wear jeans all the time! I just find it a bit rude to show up places with wrinkly shirts or dirty dresses.
It shows respect to dress up in some occasions.
When I wear jeans, they are brand-named, but I don't look down on people who don't wear brands.
The reason I buy them is they are comfortable and pretty to me.
When I say showing up in a t-shirt and jeans, I don't mean that its wrong to wear t-shirts nor jeans, I simply mean that I find it rude to show up anywear clashing, wrinkled, or dirty. I think people can take time to find nice outfits appropropriate for all occasions.
Love, and hugs, Starry

But anyway, welcome!

Hiya, Starry! Glad to have you here, and I hope you'll share your poetry. I am infamous for my long critiques *blushes slightly* and I am always happy to see a new poem.
As for clothes, that's all where your priorities are. I personally don't spend much time on my wardrobe - ten minutes is actually a lot of time in my mind. Which is why I spent some two hours today reading Sherlock Holmes stories. :D Invalid argument, I guess, but I just don't feel like clothes or hair or fingernails are worth the time they take to keep them constantly up-to-date. I know several people who differ with me on that count, so I'm not surprised that you do.
And despite my differing with you there, I am, again, glad to see you here! I like the confidence at the end of your post. :D A couple of pointers: a) if you can't find a thread, check the last couple threads in the Inkwell or Pudding's Place or whichever section it was in - new threads like to run to the back to hide b) a few of the people here (I am generally not one of them) are rather.... spirited.... in debates on such topics as global warming, the Jonas brothers, politics, religion, evolution, etc., so be careful with those topics c) the Admins (administrators) review every post or thread before it comes up on the website, so it will take some time to see your posts d) if Koffee starts talking about bananas, don't get weirded out. We're all a little strange here, and e) I would avoid chatspeak or textspeak, although a few of us (like me) use the occasional lol or something like that. Related to that is our dislike of poor punctuation/capitalization/spelling, although your original thread is fine on that count. Remember that we are (for the most part) a bunch of writing geeks, and we will respond in a manner congruous with our geek status. :D Oh, and if you see people talking about Nano, that's Nanowrimo, a write-a-novel-in-a-month event that several Chatterboxers are doing. (Not me, unfortunately - I wish I were :P) Anywho, eat candy and smile! It's Halloween!

I really like Areopostale!!! I don't dress nice all the time, around my house I wear sweats. But when I go in public I normally wear jeans.

Looks like I have found another friend. Even with our difference of opinions, we seem very alike. I hope that we can be friends.
Love, and hugs, Starry.

I don't really spend much time on my clothes either. I don't keep up with what the "latest fashions" are, and I don't want to. I wear alot of sweat pants and t-shirts. I can't stand jeans, too tight and they make my knees sore because of the fabric. I wear khaki pants sometimes with a nice-looking blouse. I almost always wear the same shoes: blue slip ons.
Anywho, welcome again!
