Chatterbox: Down to Earth

So a lot of CBers seem to be stressed out. I have been reading quite a few books about mindfulness, so I will share some of the techniques here.
Other CBers out there, you can also join the newly formed Chatterbox Mindfulness Comittee by posting your own mindfulness techniques. I am going to share some techniques below.
Technique 1: In, out, deep, slow
This poem by Thich Nhat Hanh helps calm the mind and restore self-confidence. On the first word or phrase of the line, breath in, and on the second word or phrase of the line, breath out. Here is the poem:
In, out.
In, out.
In,out.
Deep, slow.
Deep, slow.
Deep, slow.
Calm, ease.
Calm, ease.
Calm, ease.
Smile, release.
Smile, release.
Smile, release.
Present moment, Wonderful moment.
Present moment, Wonderful moment.
Present moment, Wonderful moment.
Technique 2: The garden inside
This meditation, which I wrote, helps with appreciating the self. Imagine each aspect as you read it. Here it is:
Imagine that you are in a garden. The garden has a river with infinite freshwater flowing. There are trees all around. You take a drink from the water. Mmm. It tastes like no water you have ever tasted before. You pick an orange from a nearby tree(or whatever fruit you like to eat). It tastes amazing. The place feels like paradise. You take a walk. Count your steps. Finally, the garden puts itself into your hand, so you can enjoy and access it forever.
That's about it! Share any more techniques you have.

This is something I learned to help when you're stressed or overwhelmed!
1. Name three things that you can see (anything will do!)
2. Name three things that you can feel (tactile)
3. Take three slow, deep breaths
I like it because the three sets of three is easy to remember.

From now on, on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, I will share all of the techniques posted (giving credit to the CBers who shared them), so that ones that were in the middle will still not be ignored. Here is the first round-up:

Here's a very small guided meditation. :) I hope it helps you relax or maybe take your mind off things. :) I suggest listening to calm music while listening. :)
Start by taking deep, slow breaths. In for one . . . two . . . three. Out with one . . . two . . . three. Again. One . . . two . . . three. Repeat. One . . . two . . . three.
Stay here, in the rain.
Water droplets patter all around the forest. Tap-tap-tapping on the leaves. Plop-plop-plopping on the wet earth. Thud-thud-thudding on hollow logs.
Grey clouds blanket what little of the sky there is to see through the branches. The woods are gloomy, but not dark. A chance to rest your eyes. Saturated greens and deep browns permeate the forest, bringing a sense of calm.
The smell of damp plant matter and mushrooms is a grounding sensation, and the scent of chestnuts and fruit is comforting. The soaked pavement of the path is warm from the mid-summer rain. Swaying in the wind and rain, the surrounding trees rustle and swish, building a symphony for one
What happens after the rain and the forest fade away? Think about things that should be done and the reason why. Maybe some sweeping up so the floor is nicer to walk on? Maybe giving someone a hug so both feel just a little better about the day? The only real reason is that doing it makes the world a tiny bit brighter and happier.

Another good technique for when you're stressed (I read this in a book) is to imagine grey skies as you breathe in, and then blue or purple skies as you breathe out.
Grey skies IN
Blue skies OUT
