Who else here

Who else here is homeschooled?

I don't think that I would like going to public school.  I might, one of my friends said I would like it, but I wouldn't fit in.  All schools are different, I would think.  And I wouldn't be going to her school.  I've been homeschooled all my life, and I do not know what school is like.  And I am shy.  Not on here, but outside of the computer, in a croud of people I don't know, I am shy.

I've changed so much since I started homeschool/unschool.  I fit in perfectly when I was in public, but now, if I went back, I would definitely not fit.  And you know, frankly, I like myself a HECK of a lot better now than when I think back on my personality.

I wasn't unique.  I followed the trends.  I didn't do stuff for me, I did stuff to make other people like me.  I'd say stupid things to get people to feel sorry for me, or to impress them.

No, I haven't changed completely, but I'm getting better each day.  I still make mistakes, big ones... but I love myself the way I am!!!!

Oh, and reading!!  Reading is one of my TOP things, but when I was in public school, I never had time to enjoy reading, and I was TERRIBLE at it.  It would take me months to finish one little chapter book!!  Now I read constantly, and I go FAST.  Plus, I learn SO much from what I read.  For instance, I've never been good at spelling, but since reading, and then coming on here, I've improved so much.

Ok, I'm starting to get a little boasty here... I think I'd better get out of this thread.....

I'm homeschooled! Yippeeeee! I only remember 1 year in kindergarten when they won't let me drink anything at all until I finished eating! So I started homeschooling late after that skipped 2 grades and am now 11 and in 8th grade but 9th grade level.

I am not homeschooled. I go to a public school.(But in homeschool I think you don't have to get up early, do you?)

@ Dawnpaw: Well, no you don't. Some homeschoolers wake up early, but I don't. I'm not a morning person. We do have to wake up early if we're going on a field trip thing though.

Exactly the same with me. Yet my friend, who is homeschooled, gets up at 7 every morning. I only get up if i have early morning practice, or a regatta.

Well.... We start every morning at seven thirty, and our first year - this is our fourth - we started a little before six thirty. So some of us do have to get up early....

I don't wake up at a cirtain time.  I usually wake up at five through nine.  sometimes I have to wake up when it's to early, to go to a field trip or appointment.  or maybe to help my mom vend(she makes and sells jewelry).

I am!  But more unschooled than homeschooled.  Not really any schedule, my mom just tells me to do a cirtain thing and I do it.  She wants me to do atleast two pages of math per day, but these past couple days I haven't been doing them.  Friends were here.  I'll do six pages of math today.  Or maybe eight tomorrow...  Or as much as I want, more than six or eight!  I'm doing decimals right now.  Math-U-See is the only cericulum that I use.  I'm in different grade levels in the subjects that I study.  Some books say they are for people in fourth grade, others for eighth.

YOu get to pick what you want to learn about and when you do it.  Don't really have a schedule...
