Chatterbox: Down to Earth
What's the be
What's the best advice you've ever gotten?
I'll start. Worrying makes you suffer twice. There's no point in stressing about it, and you have to learn how to not.
From a dear friend: "Most of the things we worry about don't happen."
From another friend I admire: "Anything worth doing is worth doing well."

That's some good advice. I'm going through a worrying stage right now, and I worry a lot, and most of the things I worry about either won't happen, or will absolutely happen except decades and decades from now. So, yeah, you could say I'm suffering twice.
My absolute favorite piece advice of all time: "Zuko: You must look within yourself to save yourself from your other self. Only then will your true self reveal itself."

It doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down, what matters is how many times you get up" - Bobby Moch

oooh, good question! I don't know what the best advice I've gotten is, but this is something that resonated with me:
"The main thing about ghosts - most of them have lost their voices. In Asphodel, millions of them wander around aimlessly, trying to remember who they were. You know why they end up like that? Because in life they never took a stand one way or another. They never spoke out, so they were never heard. Your voice is your identity. If you don't use it, you're halfway to Asphodel already." - Nico di Angelo, The Heroes Of Olympus: The Blood Of Olympus.

These aren't exact qoutations, but here is some of the best advice I have heard:
"You can think of a thosand different outcomes for a situation, but thinking about them won't change what will actually happen. The only thing that can change that outcome is what you do. "
-Zeke, Rebels
"When your doing something for fun, don't apologize for your mistakes. Pleasure is not something to be sorry for."
-E, a good friend
"If you don't like them anymore, don't hang out with them!"
-A Song by Lizzo (Ya'll probably know it - the name has foul language in it though so I won't put it)
"The past is the past. You can't change it. Just move on, and focus on improving your mistakes."
-Unknown (A friend or family member I think)
And of course, the spotlight...
"You be you. Don't be anyone else."

This is a poem by Mary Elizabeth Frye I absolutely revere. Not sure if it counts as advice, but oh well!
"Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sun on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight
I am the soft starshine at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die"

*ahem*
A piece of advice from my dEaR fRiEnD (I'll call her S)
"If someone asks you why, say 'because reasons'."
I have tried this on people- it kind of actually worked.
...
Though that may be because they don't want to argue with me :D
cuz I'm very good at arguing :DD

Well, this might not be the best advice one might get, but it's something! You'll know what it's from when you see it. :P
"The past is past! Let it go!" (heh heh...)

I don't know, but one quote that was on my old math teacher's wall was : you don't fail when you lose, you fail when you quit. And, I think Hillary Clinton, or someone, said something like: every moment spent dwelling on the past is a moment wasted in the future. Also, my priest gave me a little card with a quote on it: I forgot exactly what it says because I don't have it with me right now, but it was something like : Be strong and courageous, and do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for God is always a with you, and he will never leave you nor forsake you. Also, listening to climb every mountain always inspires me.

I'm not sure if this counts as advice, but my friend once said to me, "Someday you'll find someone who loves you just as much as you love them", and it really resonated with me.

Idk if this is the best, but here are some cool quotes in my Computer Science classrom
"The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But most of all, the world needs dreamers who do." -Eleanor Roosevelt
"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." -Thomas Edison
"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." -Thomas Edison

I don't know if this is advice, but it's pretty funny.
"Always find someone that looks at you the way Alyx looks at gingerbread"-- Stampy Cat
He said that when he and Squaishey were makin' gingerbread in a video, and Alyx was REALLY wantin' that gingerbread.
Yeah, I think I'm gonna use that when I'm lookin' for a guy who likes me.
I only have, like, ONE DUDE who has a crush on me, and he's, like, a couple years younger than me.
And, I'm movin' on the first of November, so I'm probably not gonna see him again...
I mean, I might, just not for a while...
