Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I hate Jack Russell terriers and never want to see one again [hahahaha, on the DtE page, probably all you'll see is "I hate Jack"!!!! hahaha...]. 
Anyway, a looong time ago, on my trip out west (ooooh, 2008 I think?), we visited my great aunt, whom I had never met before.  She had a REALLY sweet Jack Russell named [long French word here that I'm not going to attempt to spell], but we called her [...] for short. :) A few days after we left, we got a phone call that the day after we were at her house, my great aunt and the dog had been in their yard playing, and [...] saw a squirrel, so she crossed the road, thus being hit by a truck.  The truck driver hopped out of the truck, picked up the dog, and began weeping (literally!), because he had a dog that had been hit, too.
Yesterday, I was with my friend, and when her mom came to pick her up, she brought her Jack Russell terrier.  My friend, who didn't have a pet, had begged her parents to let her get a dog for months, so she finally got this adorable puppy in, umm, April.  Buuut, anyway, I saw this cute doggy yesterday, and he was fine.  Today, I got a phone call from my friend saying he ate a piece of carpet (???), which got stuck in his body somewheres, and he was now in the emergency room at the vet.  Their only choice was to have the surgery, which they couldn't afford, or have him put to sleep.  Her parents made her go hom with her brother, and they were going to make the "decision" for her.  Soo, in other words, he's not gonna make it.

Has something ever happened to you, where every time you do something (like see a Jack Rusell), something bad happens (like it dies the next day)??  There's a few more things like that that I can think of, but I need to go to bed now, so adios!
