Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Did you know
Did you know that we have less than ten years before our climate gets out of control? Then it will be much hotter and our planet will be in danger. There is still hope, though, to prevent some of this! But we need to start now, and we all have to do our part. Start by telling others, turning off the light when you leave the room, and try putting on a jacket and bundling up before you turn on the heat when it is cold.

Yes, climate change is a very serious, and very real! I am lucky enough to go to a school that teaches about climate change, but lots of my friends and family members are not getting this education, and telling others is definately a good way to start.

I know!!! One of the biggest causes of CO2 emmissions is cattle, so eating less meat helps. Try to drive less, bike/walk more! Also, don't take more food than you will eat. If you do have ecxess, compost it, don't throw it in the trash! And recycle. I know that not everyone has access to composting/recycling, though.
Also, why are you anonymous?

... Yeah, 'bout the light thing...
I've never told anyone (I don't think I did) on the CB, but Ripley (Yes, I'm tellin' 'em, cuz. After I told myself I wouldn't tell 'em.) and I watched VERY VERY VERY VERY scary videos 'bout these SUPER VERY VERY VERY man-eatin' robots video game on the Y to the T thing, and we were 8 and nine (I was 8, she was nine), and it's been almost 5 STINKIN' YEARS, and I STILL sleep with the light on.
Yes, I'm THAT scared of the dark.

...yep. i'm terrified of it! i totally agree with you that we should all do as much as we can in our day-to-day life to cut down on our footprint. BUT. this might sound depressing, but that alone is not enough to save our planet. "100 companies are responsible for 71% of global emissions, study says - Business & Human Rights Resource Centre."
Really, it's not us, the consumers, that are responsible for climate change, it's those huge companies that run coal-powered factories to make goods, ship them in gas-powered planes and trucks to us, and sell them in plastic containers that might not even be recycled, depending on where you live. (i wrote an essay about the problems with the current recycling system in the us, but i'm short on time rn). but they don't seem to care much, do they? and we're just tiny little people and they're big and rich and have power in the government. however, i have to belive that we can do more to stop them. so, write letters to officials! sign petitions! organize with others, share ideas, and protest (if it's safe). boycott goods that hurt the environment the most (if it's affordable). there's probably a lot more out there on the internet! aaand ofc we're all kids here so don't feel obligated to do anything big, i just wanted to share my thoughts. :)
