Common Names!
Heehee, soo, I wanted to do a little
experiment to see if the popularity of names
differs from place to place (which I'm sure it
does, but I thought it would be fun to ask). So,
what names seem to be common where you live?
These are some that are common here:
Girls: Kayla, Alyssa, Brianna, Alexis, Kaitlyn (and many
other forms of it)
Boys: Austin, Jonathan, Joshua, Zachary, Ryan.
Okay, I only used five names for each gender,
so it would be simpler. You can use however many
you want (or can think of ;) ).

Well most people I know are Catholic homeschoolers, so the names most likely differ from that of the actual population in my area, but hmm.. I'll use the names of girls on my soccer teams too, since that will be more realistic:
Soccer:
2 girls with names like "Mary Carolynne" and "Mary Ellen" Typical southern! :) There are three Grace's (!?!?!?!) including me, but that I think is just a weird coincidence hahaha. Morgan! There are so many Morgans it's crazy.
Then with my friends, there are a ton of Catherine's (Different spelling though) and tons of Emily's.
Ok All I can think of right now... I'll do boys names later :)

Sophia, Lauren and Ann(e) are all popular girl names around here, I'm not sure about boy names.

@ Grace: Please give your soccermates Mary Carolynne and Mary Ellen sympathy from Mary Elizabeth... gets *so* *confusing* to have two names.
Let's see... there are lots of Sarahs, and a really huge number of Katelynns and Mikaylas. Course, Katelynn and Mikayla have so many wacky alternate spellings (Katelynn, Katelyn, Caitlin, Caitlyn, Kaitlyn, etc, etc.) (Mikayla, Michaela, McKayla, etc. etc) that that can get confusing too.
For boys, I've met a lot of Jacobs (or Jakobs of Jakes) lately, and variants of Thomas (Tommy, Tom, etc)... Oh, and also plenty of Johns. *nod* There are two Josephs in my class, also.
Of late parents also seem to be "making up" their kids' names, which I actually think is kind of cool... for instance, two of my closest friends are Gianna and Alexa, both of which are kinda far-out. Very pretty, though. :)

The popular names in Houston seem to be the same ones as in Mary Liz's area of NJ, but I don't know any Johns. It's an odd coincidence...

Girls: Hannah, Sarah, Anna, Rachel, Emily, Bethany, and Julia seem to be fairly popular. Although since most of the people I know are homeschoolers, I'm not sure how accurate this is compared to the rest of the town where I live.
Boys: Jacob, Zach/Zack, Noah, Miles, um... That's all I can think of at the moment.
