Question, especially for
Question, especially for the older Chatterboxers:
This year I'm having a really hard time with school. I'm a sophmore/junior in high school (and homeschooled, in case you didn't know) so I'm doing world history, American government, and chemistry. And precalculus and grammar, not to mention the massive composition/British literature class I'm taking. All that to say that I'm having a really hard time keeping up with the homework and projects, plus I have a couple extracurricular activities that I can't and don't want to back out of, like horseback riding and quilting, and Mathcounts, which I don't want to leave as I have the oportunity to become assitant coach next month. And come spring precalc will be over and I'll be taking Calc 1 at the local community college. My grades are dropping lower than they should be (that is to say that I can do better) which is really bugging me. I want to mimic the villain-turned good guy in Redwall's The Bellmaker and yell "Help! Help! I'm bein' whelmed over!" Any tips on organization/surviving a year and a half of high school in one year? Thanks!

I'm having the same problem, but I'm 11 and not homeschooled.

Wow, sounds like you're swamped. ("I have a wedding to plan, a war to start, a wife to murder and Gilder to frame for it. I'm swamped!") Sorry, Princess Bride reference. :) I, too, am horribly busy and homeschooled. I might have to think about some suggestions. In the mean time, all I can offer you is understanding support!

Oho! *gives Brynne lots and lots of choklit for the BP reference* I absolutely love that movie. <333
Well, like Ima I'm eleven and not homeschooled, but there's little differentiating between sixth, seventh, and eighth graders at the tiny! tiny! private school that I attend. I would suggest you take a weekend (assuming you don't HS on weekends) and try to get as much as you can done- devote an hour or so to this subject, an hour or so to that. Organizing homework and suchlike helps a lot too.
Anyway, good luck and I hope that was helpful. :) It must be really hard, a year and a half of school in just one. :P *sympathizes*

EEP! You're my age and doing all that school? I feel dumb now... ;) Anyway, I don't have TONS of school, but two things that help me get done faster and more efficiently are- *dramatic drumroll* no, ignore the drum roll, you probably already do these anyway :) 1. Going to bed early and getting up early. It's hard, especially after a long and lovely summer, but I am way more productive in early morning than later in the day. And if I go to bed too late, I'm just a big grump when I get up. :):):) 2. Laying out all of my school work in the order I'm going to do it with all the pages open to where they're supposed to be the night before. It sounds very fussy, but having everything there really helps me. :) Like I said, you probably already do those, but I hope they help anyway!

Oops! I'm fourteen now... *flaunts birthday hat* Jk, of course. I try to go to bed early, but when I have homework that has to be done.... Seriously, on Tuesday I did three things from seven thirty in the morning until ten thirty at night: an hour of horseback riding, an hour on the phone cause a friend in Connecticut called, and school. And I didn't get everything done that I needed to, either. I worked in the car on the way to my riding lesson, and at ten thirty I gave up and went to bed. Not the best way to spend one's birthday, but when there's work I have to do it. :P Weekend's coming....
