Halloween: I know

Halloween: I know

Halloween: I know it's way too early to be thinking about it, but I am anyway. What is everyone going to be? Oh, and by the way, it's also Sir Nicholas de Mimsmy Porpington's death day.

One year I was a vending machine with a snacks taped all over me! The other years I was the regular fairy, dancer, Star Wars character, you know. I was going to be a bunch of grapes with my friend last year (balloons taped on us so we looked like grapes) but we ended up not doing that. I'm not sure if I'm going to be anything this year or not.

Um... not very coherent at the moment. I'm tired.

This year I'm being a ninja-assassin-thingy... they're fun. 'Specially when they have ray guns... /helenaness

Sorry. Long day. *cough*

Well, I'm allergic to dairy, and a lot of people give out chocolate, and I've never been able to eat more than half of my candy. I'm also vegetarian, and I found out a few months ago that geletin is made of bones, and since so much non-chocolate candy is made of geletin, I'd only be able to eat about 1/4 of my candy, so trick-or-treating would be kind of pointless. Not to mention, just taking geletin and causing it to be eaten by my brother would be no different from eating it (theoreticaally speaking), and it would go against my beliefs. For these reasons, I am not trick-or-treating this year. I am merely handing out candy – candy with no geletin. However, I am still going to have a costume – if I can think of one. I am currently having trouble with that. Ah, well – my aunt Suzi will come to Texas soon, and she might have some ideas. She was the one who suggested being a bird sanctuary last year... *remembers happily*

Ima, I DEFINITELY don't mean to start this as an argument, I'm just interested.  What do you eat?  Can you drink, like, soy milk or something like that?  Is it awful to be a allergic to dairy?  Do you like being a vegan?

Last year, I went trick or treating with my friend who moved to CA, and she's allergic to almost everything!!  Dairy, wheat, and EVERYTHING!!!  All she eats is pretty much rice and soy milk.  But anyway, she gave us 9/10 of her candy, and we gave her all of our bubble gum, Dum-Dums, and whatever she could eat.  It was really sad!!! :(

I have a cousin who's allergic to (pretty much) everything!!  She gets one day a week where she can eat whatever she wants (in small quantities)  I feel bad for her though, it must be hard.

Aww, that's really sad!! :( But how can she eat anything on one day??

What do you mean?  She's not HIGHLY allergic, if that's what you mean, so if she eats stuff in small quantities, it's ok.  :)

I just got back from Galveston, Texas, and it was awsome. You live in a great place Ima. Last year I was a teacher with a paper airplane in my hair, pencils stabbed into me, and a kick me sign. This year I will wear a white T-shirt with Trick or treat on the front, and everybody could sign the back in sharpies markers wich I will carry around on a belt. We live in a small town so I practically know everybody here. I also might wear a wig or something. Or maybe I will stick birds in my hair and be a bird bath or maybe I will be a book.

I like Halloween!!!  My neighborhood is the second most popular neighborhood to trick-or-treat in in Gorham, besides this big, fancy, rich neighborhood.  Of course, this other neighborhood near my house is starting to be kinda popular.  We normally get over 300 kids from 5:30 to 10:00.  We have to buy lots of candy... :) My bag always weighs a TON after I'm done with half the neighborhood (I only do half, because otherwise I'd be high off sugar for weeks if I did all the houses!). :):)

Anyway, last year, I was a glowstick person (I wore every type of glowstick I could find! Normal ones, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, belt (it didn't work right...), headband, earrings (or more like bracelets through my loop earrings), bracelets around my glasses (haha, those didn't work!), sticks on my shoes, and some others. :) Everybuggy in the neighborhood stared at me... :):):) That was the first year of trick-or-treating without adults for me!! :D I went with my little sixth grade friend Izzie and my friend who moved to CA.  It was fun, and we were pretty safe, because there were lots of police cars in the neighborhood, like always. :)

So this year, my little seventh grade friend Izzie and I are dressing up as our brothers' friend _________ , and we are calling ourselves ______ians.  He dresses reaaaaallly weirdly, and almost everybuggy in Gorham knows who he is (he and my brother have been known by some people as the two most oddly dressed people in Gorham High).  Anyway, he usually wears the biggest shirt he can find (XXXL) and the brighter the colors the better!  He wears pants that are waaaaay low, but you can't really see because his shirts so long.  He has colorful shoes and a hat (skateboard hats).  Yes, there are a lot of people in Gorham who dress like that, but when we say we are the ________ians, everybuggy will know!! :) Or at least the teenagers will know. :) And my bro's friend is perfectly okay with all this, and he said he'll help us shop for the costume if we want. :):):)

Just to be safe, I deleted the last name. Thanks for being so understanding, Kenzie!

@ R~D: Don't worry, I'm not offended. Lots of people ask me those kinds of questions.

I do drink soymilk. Actually, I like it very much. I eat a lot of sandwiches and soup and noodles and beans and things.  I'm also semi-addicted to garlic, and I'll eat that almost any way.

I get a lot of odd looks when  I say I hate salad, but it's true. And I can eat at restaurants sometimes, too... The only places with virtually nothing I can eat are seafood and fast food places. I can have fries there, but that's about all.

I think that if I were to suddenly lose my allergy, I would eat dairy and eggs only when I'd know that the cows and chickens didn't live on factory farms. You'd think that there's no way of knowing, but you'd be surprised how much you can learn if you ask questions.

I've had a blood test taken to see if I was getting all the protein I needed. Apparently, I was, so that's good.
