Oh my gosh!!!
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Oh my gosh!!!
Oh my gosh!!! On Friday it was my third day of school but we were having a "fun day". The teachers sent us to the cafeteria to go eat lunch. Perfectly normal, right? No.
Our lunchtime and the 5th graders lunchtime had been switched, so they were still eating. (I'm in 7th grade.) The lunch staff apparently thought we were clogging up the hallways, so they sent us outside to wait in the courtyard.
My friend Loren passed out invitations to her birthday and gave one to me. I started walking over to the grass, but I noticed there were an unusual amount of hornets together in one spot. I looked down, and hundreds of bees were pouring from the huge hole! You couldn't see the ground for bees, there were so many. So, stupidly, I stared at them for about 10 seconds, then ran, swatting the air with the invitation Loren gave me.
All of a sudden, people were screaming and crying. My other friend Katelynn had the hornets covering her sweatshirt! She got stung 3 times. And Loren got stung three times too, but her hand swelled up and later turned purple so she had to go home. I barely escaped getting stung.
A lot of people got stung on their backs, sides, heads or lips. There were 20+ people who got stung. One guy had to go to the hospital because he was super allergic. Apparently, someone had stepped on the bee's nest and made them really angry. It was really, really horrifying and frightening.

Augh! That sounds horrible.

I'm so sorry... Of course, I also feel sorry for the bees, too (the home they'd worked so hard to build was destroyed, and I'm guessing someone sprayed them with pesticide – although I really hope not. Not to mention, when they sting people, they die...), but I'm also really sorry for the humans.

Ugh! So much for the fun day... :\ I went to this
picnic a few weeks ago and there was a bee's nest
in the ground. It was nothing like what you're
talking about, though. It was pretty avoidable...
I hope everyone's alright. I know alot of people
are really allergic to bee stings.

Oh man, I'm glad you were alright! Is the guy who went to the hospital alright??

Something like that once happened to my brother and me. Someone stepped on a bee's nest and the bees attacked my brother when he was 2. I somehow got out of the swarm, but I, being mean and stupid... but I was little, forgot about my brother. He got 22 bee stings!!! He had to go to the hospital and they were pulling stingers out from all over!!!! :( It was bad.

Was your brother okay, R~D~?

Yeah, I think he's perfectly fine, they probably put him on some medicine and injected an epi pen. Actually, I think I saw him today at lunch.
And my friend Loren is fine, too. Her stings don't hurt anymore, but everybody is very itchy. :/ I gave Katelynn advice to use common plantain so she shouldn't itch anymore.
I really hope they sprayed the bee's nest so if anyone goes out into the courtyard again there wouldn't be another attack. :)

No comment. I really don't think murder is the solution... Oops *facepalm*. I guess I just commented. Ignore me please.
