Daylily~

We are so very, annoyingly late.

I'm trying my best not to be impatient, but we're verging on becoming inpolite. I hope no-one thinks we're rude. That would be a horrible first impression.

I run my hands over my dress one more time. Unlike Callisto, I'm more anxious about my presentation than how well I'll be able to get along with everyone. I sigh. This is going to be fine- and even fun, maybe.

Rolling my shoulders, I push the elegant doors open with Callisto trailing behind me, tucking a stay piece of hair behind aer ear. I'm a bit dazzled when I first walk in. It really is beautiful here. The vast chamber is speckled with AEs. I put on a smile. I doubt any of them bite.

I walk in what I hope is a very confident style, smiling at whoever looks at me; most of them are already talking amongst themselves. Finally, I see someone, standing alone by the wall, grinning at me. The perfect invitation. I walk over to them.

Callisto~

I'm more nervous than I thought I would be. I mean, it is my first ball, I'm going to be surrounded by strangers, and now we're late... which I guess couldn't really be helped. I bounce my foot and it takes me a minute to realize it's happening.

I come in behind Daylily. It's so beautiful. I walk in slowly, pausing to admire everything around me. Then, blinking, I start to realize I could be drawing a few stares. I'm a bit embarrassed, but not done looking at my surroundings. I find a cozy little corner near the snack table to get a good look at everything. I cross my fingers in the hopes that I can remember a few faces from the introduction thread. I'm glad I'm here. Maybe I could make a friend by the end of the night.
