My Pet Crested Gecko
Here you can talk about your pets. (Preferably reptiles). Anyway, I am going to tell you all about my crested gecko!! His name is Vinnie and he is a harlequin flame crested gecko. He eats this pangea gecko diet mixed with water (the diet is like protein powder for geckos) and it turns in to this sticky goo (yuck!). Vinnie LOVES the pangea diet with insects and will not eat ANYTHING else unless he gets SUPER hungry and there is no other food. He is such a picky eater. Sometimes I also feed him mealworms but I have not gotten them in a while because last time they got moldy and it was disgusting. I'm also thinking about getting him live crickets (he would be great at catching them) because lately I have been seeing him jumping and biting the water droplets that start to roll down the side of the terrarium. I don't know what he thinks the moving droplets are, but he might think it is some kind of insect. Maybe he just likes catching runaway water. Another thing about Vinnie: he is only like three or four inches long because he is about 7 months old and they take FOREVER to reach full size. Also he is so adorable. Sometimes when I read at night, I see him looking up at me with his cute glossy eyes.
Some general facts about crested geckos: they lick their eyeballs to moisten them (they have no eyelids). They can live for 20 years. They are diurnal in the wild but nocturnal in captivity. They can drop their tails when stressed. In the wild, you can find them in the islands of New Caledonia.
Anyway, that is it for my crested gecko.. make sure to share about your pets or maybe even your own crested gecko!

Hey! My sister has a Crested Gecko too! His name is Marbles, and a couple of nights ago, we let him try blueberry, watermelon, and melon pieces. He liked watermelon best. I also gave some to our hemit crabs, and they liked watermelon better, too. Also, I used to have a cat, and an entry about him got into the February 2020 edition (I went by my real name, Adira, back then), but, well, he got kidney failure, and died at 17. We could have fixed him up, but he was so old, he had a billion other medical issues...

I looked up what a crested gecko looks like and it's really cool. I really want a snake and I'm trying to convince my parents to let me get a corn snake, but I probably won't be able to get one. I do however have a fish, a tarantula, and a budgie. My tarantula's name is Monique, she's a girl and should live for about another 12 years. She eats about six live crickets every month or two. What's interesting about tarantulas is that males only live for about 5 years, and females live for about 20 years. Some people hold their pet tarantulas but we haven't attempted to do so yet. My budgie is blue and is named Sky. He can talk, and do some tricks. One trick he does is if you put your finger in front of him, he will touch your finger and make a kissing noise, he also will flip upside down on a perch, wave and spin. Sky's favorite thing to say is pretty bird, but he also says baby bird, kiss kiss, sky bird, what's up, and come here. We didn't mean to teach him to say come here, but we said it to him so much that he picked it up. My sister is trying to harness train him so that he can wear a harness with a leash and then we can take him on walks outside. I really enjoy my pets, and I hope all of you guys enjoy your pets too.

Aw hey those guys are so cute! If you couldn't tell, I am a fan of geckos. Sadly, I don't have one as a pet, but I do have four frogs. They are African Dwarf Frogs, so they're relatively small (though mine are kind of fat even though they don't eat much), gray, and they spend their whole lives in the water. I've had them for a good four years now, even though they were only supposed to live for two. Honestly, I'm kind of surprised they aren't dead yet.
