Hello again!
It has been a long time since I have last visited. I am not sure if many of you remember me, but I'm an old CBer who officially left around a year or two ago. I just wanted to stop by and say hi and give a life update. I guess I'll start with a little intro and go from there.
I'm Ashlee, a long time CBer from Washington. I joined when I was 9 and I am now 19... Gosh, life flew by! My 10th CBversary was June 1. I lost the actual date so for the sake of simplicity it's June. I was homeschooled the majority of my life with my four younger siblings. Now I am a sophomore in college (or will be this fall) onlineat Western Governors University. I am earning my bachelor's in special education and elementary and hope to get my masters afterwards! I hope to teach on a reservation and perhaps one day open my own school or write curriculum for homeschoolers.
I am still your lovely weird girl obsessed with the arts, photography, doctor who, practically ever genre of music, and nature things. I'm also into K-pop now! If any of you are also fans let me know. *coughcoughfellowARMYscough* I've definitely changed since I was an active CBer but that comes with time I suppose. New music, an interest in dance and cooking, new languages, and now the responsibility of adulthood.
I moved out in January and started working as a parapro for PreK-12th students with special needs. It was actually at the same school that I briefly went to and I ended up helping some of my old friends. Kind of awkward in that sense but I loved it! I ended up moving last month due to the cost of living. I am briefly living with family but have a new house lined up for this month. I also just started a job as an assistant lead jr preschool teacher at a childcare center. The kids are absolutely precious but definitely energetic hahh.
Besides work, life has been school and struggling to grasp the concepts of life. I am about to get my license (finally!). I am definitely not married yet, or dating for that matter. Although it's interesting to see a lot of my old classmates are married and have children already. We are all growing up so fast.
I have been doing alright in quarantine. My county just applied for phase 3. We are a pretty rural town with no cases so I imagine it will get approved. It's been personally scary because my mom and I are high risk. I've seen so many people impacted by COVID-19 that it feels more real. But we've been healthy.
Our country and world is rather crazy right now. There is so much pain and suffering that I won't even begin to express for our people, from covid to George Floyd's death and more. Just know that my heart goes out to all of you. Stay strong, this will get better soon. On the bright side, we've made it this far friends.
Hmm what else? I am still great friends with a lot of the old/current CBers outside of the CB. It has been amazing growing up together over the past 5-7 years. We have been through everything as a family, good and bad. We've experienced and learned a lot regarding mental health, romance, gender, graduations, loss, and yes, even quarantine between the lot of us. I cannot imagine life without them right now. Love you guys <3
And to you all, I have missed you! There are a ton of new faces but I still recognize lots of names. Have you all been well? Has quarantine been ok? I love you! Stay safe. I'll try to reply to as much as I can but I'm not sure how long I will be here for. This will probably not be my last visit. I can see myself popping in here every year or so.
Also, happy pride month! I was happy to see you still have that thread going 2 years later.

ASHLEEEEEE! *tackle hug* Ahh it's wonderful to see you again! Gosh, we really are all growing up, aren't we? Wow, reading through that made me all nostalgic. A reminder of how time really does fly. It's kinda scary. O.O Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're doing well and I'm so glad you dropped in!

Hey, Ashlee! I remember you... albeit as the older CBer I aspires to be :)
I recently left the CB, mostly. (I'm, strangely, on more since I 'left') I'm on Nano, YWP and Adult, as Catsquill or Agent_Catsquill, respectively.
I've been doing well, and I'm much less affected by the recent events, given that I'm a straight, white, cis, middle-class male... *cough*, anyway, I've been doing well.

Hi Ashlee, it's good to hear from you again, you might not remember me, but I remember when you were on here. I think it's really cool that you are going into teaching, little kids are so amazing. I wish you good luck for the future and thanks for the words of encouragement.
