Crushes!What
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Crushes!What
Crushes!
What's it like? I've never been in/wanted to be in one so I have no experience whatsoever. I want to be prepared for the feels, so please enlighten me. Just don't get into the mushy-ness. That's... Weird and slightly unnatural. *Makes cross with fingers* Keep the mush to yourself.

It's kinda nice, but then you realize that love is too stressful to maintin when you're working at school at the same time. love is also somethin the child mind can't understand and won't until it fully develops. In short, love is nice, but it's too stressful for kids to uphold.
You won't get into it if you're lucky.

I've had 2 crushes, but then I realized that I didn't really like like either of them. One was just my friend and I didn't know the difference between romantic love and friendship love, and one was just handsome. XD

You just really like someone. Almost everything about them is cute to you: their personality, their appearance, their hobbies, whatever. You love spending time with them, you think about them all the time, everything makes you think of them, especially books about love. (Think: I'm reading Romeo and Juliet in school and all the romantic monologues make me think about my crush.)
And having a crush on someone is great except when it's not. If they don't like you back, it's kind of a miserable cycle between being happy because you talked to/saw them and being dejected because they don't think of you that way.
I honestly don't know how to describe it better than that. I don't mind having crushes. I don't know if this was too mushy or what - I won't wax poetic like Romeo, if that's what you're worried about - but that's kind of what it's like, at least for me.

With crushes, people can become somewhat obsessed with their crush and thoughts of them occupy a lot of time. You'd feel happy when around them, and possibly nervous to talk to them. And you'd want to see them be happy and make them laugh.
Some people are aromantic, meaning that they don't get or feel crushes. Some aros also don't understand crushes and don't know what to make of them. It's also a spectrum, meaning a person could be completely aromantic or more on the romantic side.

Crushes are a normal teenager-y thing (though younger kids can get them too)... I think it has something to do with hormones, though I'm not quite sure. I'm in one right now, and what basically happens is that I think about him pretty much every day and everything about him just seems perfect and cute. I've had crushes before, though, so I know that after a while (depending on the severity of the crush, it can last a few minutes or a few months or even upwards of a year for some people) the crush kinda just fades away. And when I think back to my crushes from a while ago, they seem semi-cute but mostly just like normal guys.
So basically, crushes are (to some degree) fun to daydream about, but after a while it gets kind of distracting and by the time they're gone, I feel mostly relieved. :)
