I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Aww *wraps you in a huge optional hug* *gives you tea/cookies/something along those lines and a fantasy land of your own where everything is perfect* I'm so sorry that you feel that way - is there anyone in your immediate circle who you trust enough to reach out to? But I saw this heartbreaking online comment about someone who lost their best friend to the fires. I've actually donated stuff to help the people who lost everything

Yes, I hope everyone is safe!! I actually know people living there who were affected, so I've been following the news. It's really horrible. :( <33 but for something positive about this, it's really great how many people you see all gathering to help!!! Like, the outpouring of kindness is incredible <33

I know, it's sounds really scary, but I'm way across the country so I'm obviously fine but yeah... It crosses my mind time to time, and I hope everyone is *alright* as they can be

I'm a few hours drive away and I know a few people affected. I'm safe thankfully but it's pretty scary

Same :( Fortunately my home is way far away, but still.
This is why people shouldn't go on long road trips, buy random things they don't need, go on long flights, and do so many other things that affect the planet. Of course California's always had wildfires, but climate change is making it so much worse. And of course climate change is partly the government's responsibility, but it's also directly caused by things that ordinary people do: even ordinary people here on the CB. If you really want to help, donating stuff and everything is wonderful! But even more helpful would be to give up that long family road trip, or make do without a new stuffie, or buy meat locally instead of from a chain supermarket. Every little thing counts. It's so horrible and upsetting and tragic that people are losing their homes and dying, and you guys literally have the power to make it a little better. Please, please do everything you can to help stop climate change. Of course, maybe you are already... A lot of people are. But there's always something more that can be done, something more that's needed. And it's never been needed more than now.

Wow Pointsettia, I can tell that you really care about that. I will remember that next time I want to grab a disposable plastic water bottle instead of a reusable one, or consider buying yet another random thing I don't actually need.

It's been such a busy week, but I wanted to pop on and say it was my fourth CBversary on Monday! I know I've been quiet, but I love you guys <3 I also thought I should mention I'm getting a short story published! It's about a few of my characters from one of my earliest projects on here, the Little Lost Library!!
