I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

Well, here he is!

If someone is bouncing a ray of light between two mirrors on the train, they see a constant up-and-down motion. When someone that is on the platform sees it, because the train is also moving past him, he will see a diagonal movement. Since light must travel the same speed for both people, and v=d/t, we know that distance is proportional to time, and thus the person on the platform experiences more time than the person on the train. The exact equation for the extra amount of time that the person on the platform experiences is ∆t=ty, where y is a value equal to 1/(√(1-v^2/c^2)) called the Lorentz factor. In this case, t is the time experienced for the person in motion, v is the relative velocity of the person in motion from the perspective of the person at rest, while c is the speed of light, equal to 299,792,458 m/s.

And to teleport a good distance into the future, you'd have to have a running speed on the scale of the speed of light. To travel 1 minute into the future, you'd have to run 0.866 times the speed of light for one minute. That is 259,620,268 meters per second, which is way faster than the speed of any commercial airline or military airplane.

Been thinking about a few events for the CB I might do in the future, let me know if any of these pique your interest:
Summer
- AE Ball
- Emotion and music thing - just like where you can go to talk about your emotions and get some music recs, a sorta chill hangout
- Pool party chat thread (similar style to the recent AE chat thread, but CBers can also come and it's specifically at a pool)
Fall
- Some sort of Interactive Roleplay Adventure? Similar to Daydreams Cafe, for those who remember that, but also its own thing
Winter
- Holiday Care Packages
- Then and now: end-of-the-year looking at what happened this year and what can happen next year
- Valentine's Day AE Dates
- Valentine's Day AE Playdates for AEs who are not interested in shipping
- Palentine's Day CB Thing
