Random Thoughts/Things?
I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

Does anyone have recommendations for indie songs/artists? I've been listening to one playlist for a while now and some fresh music would be nice XD

My time has come.
Pamelo is a very very indie band that writes songs that are great but so obscure I can't figure out what they're about. I believe the songs are about animes? The band has a beachy, laid-back vibe and is very relaxing. They have one album, and if you're looking to listen to their music, I'd recommend starting with "Her Name," "Bellamy's House," "Way Out," and "Valentine," though all of their songs are amazing.
Walllows is an alternative rock band. I'd say they're pretty indie famous, mostly known for their song "Are You Bored Yet?" which features some vocals from Clairo, who I'll mention in a minute. "Are You Bored Yet?" is famous for a reason, and I'd definitely recommend it, but "Remember When" and "Pictures of Girls" are also great. They have a few albums and some singles.
Clairo is one of my all time favorite singers. I talk about her constantly. She helped me discover my love for indie music :) anyway, she's an alternative artist with a I think three or four albums, my favorite of which is Immunity, an album that unapologetically addresses her experiences with her sexuality (she's bisexual), her mental health (listen to "Alewife," you'll see what I mean), and other things she's had to come to terms with in her life. Her newer album, Sling, is also very good and includes songs that, again, have great ideas to them (there's the feminist "Blouse," for example) and if you're looking to start listening to her, try "Sofia" "Bags" and "Amoeba."
girl in red is a singer I've been listening too only recently, but her music is on point. Her album, if i could make it go quiet, is amazing, and her singles rock too. I love "Seratonin," "Apartment 402," and "We Fell in Love in October."
You can also try The Smiths ("This Charming Man" is a favorite of mine), which you've probably heard of, and my bloody valentine (I'm listening to "When You Sleep" as I write this) which has one of the coolest band names I've ever seen. Beach Bunny has the lovely "Cloud Nine," "Oxygen," and "Weeds" going for them, and there's Maya Hawke. I've only listened to one of her songs, "Thérèse," but it's so, so good.

Rosendale has a lot of chill, soulful music! I especially recommend Six Pills (kinda like a ballad and personal tragedy, slightly magical/fantastical vibes) and Monster in the Wall (catchy song about metaphorical a monster who embodies your insecurities and tries to tear you down), but honestly all of his songs are beautiful and hold a broken realism to them. He's got a really soft, calming voice too!
Halfy and Winks have a bunch of cool songs, mostly centred around the DSMP but it's not necessary required to enjoy the songs. I would suggest listening to White Castle(soothing, about losing oneself over time and reminiscent of a music box), Nothing but Free (fluxuates a bit in tone, is ultimately hopeful and triumphant, is really catchy in my opinion, but in an almost in a more classical/instrument way?), Blink of an Eye (feels empowering, a bit clandestine and like a call fir a revolution or something), Empty Pages (full of angsty stuff and self-doubting; has been one of my favourites ever since it cane out) and maybe Oblivion (ever been a favourie of mine, but is still pretty cool and has a really impressive range). That's a good starting point and reference for a bunch of their different feels and tones, and the instruments and singing is absolutely gorgeous no matter what song it is!
Erutan writes and sings really pretty songs too! I like the Willow Maiden, The Jabberwocky and
Bella Poarch (Living H***, specifically) idk if I can really say the full name here but it is a crushingly beautiful song and ever since I stumbled upon it I've been totally in love with it!! Like I cannot convey how drop-dead gorgeous it sounds???
More random stuff:
> Lauren Aquilina - you can be king again, it's pretty and chill and she just says things in a pretty way;
> Fin Argus - Ship in a Bottle, personally I just love ocean'y songs, plus it just has a unique feel and is cool? (I'm running out of words to describe these lol);
> Lucy Ellis - Just the Two of Us, really mellow and soft, kinda dreamy and maybe a tad sad?;
THE BALLAD OF ORLANDO MY GOSH IT IS SO PRETTY-;
> Aurora - runaway, she has a really pretty voice and the song is just nice to listen to and turns really catchy after a while;
> Beth Crowley - I scare myself, kinda plain but still nice and has some cool imagery; Monster, which I like way better, even though it's kinda angsty (also I like the background piano); I didn't ask for this, kinda sad and a tad bitter but still powerful
> carolesdaughter - violent, about heartbreak, generally chill and has a nice beat + guitar;
> Faith Marie - antidote, relatable, pretty and has some catchy bits + imagery, really nice piano;
> updog - story of my life, kinda relatable in the way that you might put yourself down more than you deserve, really catchy and sounds oddly familiar, has a hint of salsa or something;
> Charlotte Lawrence - Joke's On You, ridiculously catchy, I love the tempo(?) and message of resilience (even if it seems like the relationship was quite toxic), just a really powerful and fun song;
> Lenii - White Lie, again it's absurdly catchy, I absolutely love this one and can connect to it on such a person level, and it just sounds so satisfying and weirdly modern despite the occasional gregorian chants XDDD;
> The Score - Bad Days, a chill, positive song about moving past the rough parts of life
> AleXa - Wonderland, generally just a fun and poppy song plus it's vaguely Wonderland-themed and is also pretty catchy, love this one <3
So idk if you only want stuff in English but if not I got plenty of foreign stuff too~ All you gotta do is ask!

Hi! So earlier in this thread you posted about Rosendale's Monster in the Wall And I just wanted to say thank you because I absolutely love that song (I listened to it after reading your comment about a month or two ago). It's one of my favorites now! Thanks :))

I'm not sure if these count as indie music, but U2 and The Cranberries are pretty good.

Hiii I'm a bit late but I love indie music so here are some great ones if you want to check them out:
mxmtoon is my all-time favorite; her songs are very comforting and beautiful, like a warm hug. Some of my favorites are "fever dream," "quiet motions," and "mona lisa."
chloe moriondo also great--she's kind of moving into pop/punky stuff, but I really like her earlier albums, especially Blood Bunny. Her songs are weird and sad and passionate, and really catchy.
AURORA is a kind of unique singer--I don't exactly know how to describe the genre, but I kind of think of it as fantasy-indie pop. Her voice is amazing and all her songs are really poetic and sound like they're telling you a fairy tale. From her I love "Cure for Me," "The Devil is Human," and "Queendom."
I'll end here so I don't keep going forever xD I hope that was helpful :)

i was watching a video entitled "if annoying people was a career" and in the comments section, someone posted "there are two options in life: 1) constantly annoy everyone or 2) constantly worry about whether you might be annoying everyone" and in the replies, there was "you've clearly never met a person with adhd because we do both"
and i felt it deep in my bones

This is probably the most relatable thing I've ever heard.
