Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

Reasons why you should read the Nevermoor series, in no particular order: (Excuse me while I book nerd for a while)

1. Absolutely fan-freaking-tastic plot--with plot twists! Like, really good plot twists!

2. Plenty of snark, jokes, and hijinks

3. Exceptionally crafted characters

4. A villain that softly sings haunting lullabies, wears all black and grey, commands an army of literal shadows, and is so calm and graceful that you almost forget he's a villain at all.

5. A core friend group so perfect it makes me want to live there

6. Really good representation (also, homophobia just doesn't exist there)

7. No forced romance or crushes

8. There are three books out so far, with a total of nine to be in the series

9. Subtly addresses real-world issues (like xenophobia and deportation) while still keeping the series a perfect place to escape from reality

10. The audiobook versions (read by Gemma Whelan) are so hecking good. Like, SO HECKING GOOD.

Seriously, you guys. This is my comfort series. I've read it... five times? Six? Something like that. Read it, y'all. You will not regret it.

COOLLLLLL I'll read when I come back from camp (I don't have enough time now to find it)
And I totally get reading a series mant many many many times. I lost count of how many times I've read WoF.

Ha, same with the WoF thing. And the Nevermoor fandom is severely underpopulated, so I'm glad to have (hopefully) converted you :)

YES fellow Nevermoor fan!!! I love that series so much, and whenever I'm really stressed out, I'll read a small part of it, and instantly feel better. I read it on the last night before school started last year (I was so nervous because I'd been digital for the last year and 1/2) and afterwords, I finally felt okay about it. The series is absolutely amazing, and everyone should DEFINETLY read it, I agree. :)

Yeah, he's an amazing villain, especially in the later books. One of my top three, probably.

Leafeon is so underrated. Leafeon is so underrated. Leafeon is so underrated.

Seriously, first of all, its design is so cool and interesting; it's like a cat-plant hybrid. Also, if you know about all the nerdy, nitty-gritty bits of Pokémon stats like I do (or want to learn), all the rest of this post is for you: Leafeon has great attack and some pretty good speed, and some nice base defense to tide it over while it dishes out Solar Blades in the sun. Its only weak point is that its special defense is terrible, so you need to watch out for that, but you could have it hold an item that boots its special defense when it's hit by a special move. And it's not that hard to switch when a special attacking Pokémon enters the field.

Solar Blade, Synthesis, Leaf Blade, and Swords Dance is a moveset to demolish on a Leafeon. (I wish I could remember what the best item for a Leafon is, but I can't XD) Put it on a sun team, and boom, your opponent will be cowering in fear. Honestly, I am shocked that most articles ranking Eeveelutions put Leafeon IN LAST PLACE. Seriously, do you just not know how to play Pokémon? The worst Eeveelutions is actually Flareon. (Take that with a grain of salt, if you will, because I'm someone who enjoys prepping quirky movesets and stat distributions that opponents won't expect.) Leafon is easy to utilize. I have my shiny Leafon at max attack and max speed, which I think is the best build for it.

Also, all this is coming from someone who is very into Pokémon and knows how competitive Pokémon works, so you can trust me.

In case you couldn't tell, I really like Leafon.

Viola?'s Lets Play House thread is the best. I might reboot it soon. I already tried like a month ago, but it might work better now with the other AE threads going on?? Thoughts? :\
