Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

Ok so even though I consider myself a writer I struggle a lot with actually writing anything with an actual plot, as some of you may have heard me rant about. So I found this writing contest that I could enter for free and there's really nothing for me to lose, but I really can't think of anything to write, which is so annoying. Ugh. Why won't my brain just workkkkkk???

Oh, this is SUCH a mood, I've had this problem for a long time (and it's why I like poetry, it doesnt really need a plot). But I'm taking a creative writing class this year, and what I've learned about plot is that you just have to... do it. Do what the characters, or what you, are scared of. For example, the main character is scared their best friend will betray them? Just make the friend betray them. This will bring a reaction out of the character that will be interesting to watch, and propel the story forward. And having something a character is scared of happen will mean they have to learn to deal with this, helping create character development. The main character should also be making decisions and propelling the story themself as well. And for basic inspiration, I find being in nature and people-watching help :D

[I'm not an expert or anything close, but this has at least helped me produce something decent.

Thanks Azalea! Your advice actually makes a lot of sense, and I'll try to use it the next time I have a plot to work with lol. I feel like I have so many ideas but whenever I try to form just doesn't form, you know? I'll try, though :)))

Everyone on the CB has their own life, own friends, own home. They are real, physical people. Some of the first CBers might be adults with kids already.

Just let that sink in.

I have heard the song Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) by Wheezer Three Times today. Twice in the car, once on on my playlist.

Is somebody trying to send me a message...?

I been thinking.

"think think think, think think think think..."

and I don't know whether life is truth or life is light or life is JUST LIFE, FOLKS, WITH PINE TREES INVOLVED.

I'm in Arizona for fall break. I woke up at 5:45 to see the sunrise, but it was too cloudy to see. Today we're going to do some hikes and "rock scrambling". Sadly, my brother has mono, which means he's not supposed to do any hard physical activity. He still thinks he can do most of the hikes, though. Yesterday we went to Petrified Forest National Park. It was a long drive but worth it! We got to see a ton of petrified wood with SO MANY COLORS IN IT. I took 147 pictures. On Sunday we went to the Grand Canyon. Another long drive, but also worth it. I knew it was big, but not THAT big! When we looked at it, we couldn't see the end of it. It was crazy. I'm going to attach a picture i took of petrified wood below.
