The other day I made three tapioca bubble things last in my mouth for 3 hours, 27 minutes, and 46 seconds.
(I started on July 31st, 2021 C.E, 7:40 PM EST timezone, at least according to my watch, iN cAsE aNyOnE wAs WoNdErInG.)

One of my cats is having a surgery next week, so I'm knitting her a blanket and making her cat toys. She'd better like it, because I've only been able to get, like, up to one and a half hours of viola/violin in per day in preperation for her surgery. I'M THROWING AWAY ANY FUTURE I HAVE AS A VIOLIST/VIOLINIST FOR YOU, CAT! And I can't write much either. I... am very tired of kniting.
I have a very strong feeling she's going to take one look at the blanket and lie right next to it.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat, I hope she will be better after the surgery. I am sure she will appreciate your knitted toys, even if she doesn't show it a lot.
As for not being able to practice as much, sometimes that's okay. I like to remind myself that the quality of the practice matters more than the amount of time. It is good to go easy and take a break at times too.
On a slighty different note: I didn't know you wanted to make a career out of music! I think that is really cool. What type of career do you hope to have in music, or are you not sure yet?

Thanks, that helps :) And yes, I do want to make a career out of music.
I want to specialize in baroque and early music and play on a baroque violin and viola, along with modern. Hopefully, I'll eventually be good enough to be a soloist, because I like tempo rubato and embellishing the pieces and things like that. But I'm not just hoping - I'm practicing a lot, and have set a lot of goals that I'm working towards. Also, I'm asking for extra work from my viola/violin teacher, have set a few weeks as violin/viola intensives, and am overall way too obsessed. I'm not quite sure how to go about becoming a soloist, but I figure that first I should get better. So that's what I'm working on!
Well, that was a long answer. What are your music goals?

That is so great, and I wish you best of luck with your baroque music career! Though by the sound of how much work you are putting into your dreams you will not need much (if any) luck. I hope to see you play as a soloist on stage one day, even if I don't know it is you! It's really inspiring to hear how much dedication you have to music. There is no such thing as 'too obsessed' when it comes to music.
I love music so much and I couldn't live without it, but I don't think I want it as a career. I couldn't stop playing though, so it will be something I do my whole life. I am attracted to baroque music and I would really like to play a period instrument, but I haven't had a chance yet. I would also like to join a baroque orchestra this year. Other than that I have been practicing a lot of solo Bach and recently attended a worldwide virtual baroque institute hosted by the Benedetti Foundation. If you haven't checked them out you definitely should, their music programs are amazing.
