I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Soooo did anyone see the inaugural poet, Amanda Gorman? I thought she was SO AMAZING!!! I’ve literally been in a state of awe since three days ago. Did you know that she had a speech impediment? Up until like three years ago she couldn’t say the letter R very well. And (Hamilton fans are gonna freak out) she taught herself to say the letter R by listening to Aaron Burr, Sir! She researched for a long time before she actually started writing her poem, and the... thing.... at the Capitol happened before she was finished so she added a verse about that! And yeah I’ve been fangirling nonstop since I first heard her in case any of you were wondering.... The new dawn blooms as we see it, for there is always light, if only we’re brace enough to see it, if only we’re brave enough to be it.
I just told Luna (my kitten) that everyone thought she was cute and she sat down and looked at me like, “Really? How kind!”
Wow that was the longest random thought I’ve had for a long time! @Admins if you don’t post all of this I totally get it, I’m sorry if I was too political! I tried not to be but sometimes politics sneak in without you realizing :)

Yes I saw her too!!! She was awesome! I'm a Hamilton fan and I thought I heard a couple of Hamilton-ish things in the poem, like the "everyone shall sit under their own vine and fig tree" part and I also think she said something about history having its eyes on us...anyways yeah she was amazing and I loved the poem! I also didn't know about her speech impediment and that's really interesting!

Yeah! She did include history has its eyes on us, and the everyone shall sit under their own vine and fig tree part is actually from the Bible and was included in both her poem and Hamilton. (You can tell how much research I’ve done... hehehe)

Yes!!! It was so beautiful and inspiring and I loved the references! She seemed like such a great public speaker, too.

I loved the lines 'victory lies not in the blade/but the bridges we've made' along with a couple others. Also, that's a really cool fact about Aaron Burr, Sir and her speech issues. I love Hamilton, and I caught the references right away :)

Yes she was amazing!! I also caught the Hamilton quotes. And I heard about Hamilton helping her with speech. That is so awesome :D

Yes! Shes so amazing! I loved all the Hamilton refrences and the poem and just everything about itttttttt. I dont want to get political but that was such an amazing entire day.

I just found out that the actor of Samwise Gamgee voiced a character in the episode before it, and now I want to go and reply it just for the heck of it XD
