RIP Stan Lee
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
RIP Stan Lee
RIP Stan Lee
i only just found out, but Stan Lee died today. I was just scrolling through Instagram and saw Disney’s post remembering him, and my heart just dropped. Some people you simply can’t imagine the world without, they’ve created so much and contributed so much good to the world. Stan Lee is one of them. I had never even thought about such a legend passing away.
Out of all the articles I read, none of them gave any information, only that he died in the hospital this morning. He had suffered severe illnesses in the past few years, but nothing said if it was that, or if he simply died of old age. What I do know, is that the world will miss him. We will miss his unending creativity, humor and spunk, and of course his hilarious one liners in Marvel movies. The world has suffered a great loss with his passing, and he will be greatly missed.

There was a congregation of fans mourning during lunch. R.I.P.

Yup.
Stan Lee was a great man. A founder of Marvel, creator of many superheroes and stories, and a great actor in his cameos as well, Stan Lee has passed away today at the age of 95. He lived a long and full life. May he Rest In Peace. Goodbye, Stan Lee. You gave us worlds.

I'm doing what I enjoy doing. Just like other men like to play golf, so they play golf every chance they get. So you don't say to them; 'How come you're playing golf today? You did that last week.' It was the same with me. TO me, it is such fun -- creating characters, writing stories. It's an exciting life, and when you do something that you know fans seem to enjoy, that gives you such satisfaction you don't want to stop.
Being interested in what you're doing. I know my father, the poor guy, it was during the depression and he was out of work most of the time. So his life was shorter, and it was because there was nothing really that there was nothing really, that could interested him. But I think if you do what really excites you, it just keeps you going as long as possible.
Believe it or not, I almost never have been stuck on anything. Writing comes vary easily to me. Everything else in the world is tough -- but writing...I don't have any problem with that. I can't write fast enough to keep up with the things I want to say.
I think, what ever you do, you should do what you most want to do and what you're best at. Too many people don't really do what their hearts desire is, but they try to do something else because they thing 'It'll be easier to get a job or to make money.' And if that happens, then when you're doing it you feel like you're working, but if you do what you really want to do you feel like you're playing. It's easier for you to do.
I know I wanted to be a musician when I was young, but I had no talent for it. If I had waisted time trying to be a musician, I would either have been a failure or just an ordinary musician. But I love writing also, and it came easier to me, so I figured I'd stay with that. I think you have to do what you do best and what you enjoy.
And then I began to realize that entertainment is very important in people's lives. Most people, almost everybody have lives that have problems and troubles and things to worry about. If you can entertain somebody, take his or her minds off of the things that are bothering them, that's a good thing to do.
Mostly I've just enjoyed everything I've been doing, and I think my professional life has simply been a source of pleasure for me.
- Stan Lee
You were amazing, Mr. Lee. You inspired so many souls, you gave us hope for ourselves and our futures. You gave us inspiration for ourselves and for one another. You created amazing things. You were amazing, Stan. Thank you for everything you have done. The world is a better place, because of you. Rest in peace.
Thank you, Leafy for making this thread. I came here looking for a thread about Stan Lee and I was rewarded by finding it at the top of Down to Earth. Let's keep his memory a great one!

*sobs loudly* When my brother found out, he stared at me. Then he traced a single tear down his cheek. It was funny, but not so funny when you're mourning Stan Lee.

I heard that too.
Anyway, my brother shares my Minecraft account and he made my skin Stan Lee.
Anyway, RIP, creator of Marvel. He lived a pretty long life. (Good for him.)
No more Marvel movies will have him in them.
Okay, now I'm actually starting to get sad.
Which corner are you sobbing, guys?
CAUSE I WANNA GO THERE TOO!

I found out that Stan Lee was dead 45 minutes after it happened. When my brain registered what I had just read I just sat there, stunned. I didn't cry, I don't mourn that way but I kinda just... broke. I was on a video chat with my friend but my mind went blank when I read those words from my computer screen. I just froze and sat there for a few minutes, my friend trying to get me to say something, as we had been talking about Stan Lee a few minutes beforehand, they found out about the death of my hero about a minute after I froze. When I got up and left the room they were crying. I locked myself in the bathroom an just sat there on the floor in front of the door. After about 30 minutes I walked back into my living room and pretended as if nothing happened, I still feel kinda empty when I remember that moment, I watch a lot of Marvel clips when I can.
Stan Lee was my favorite hero, he was a legend, he was a huge part of my childhood and now I feel like I've been violently shoved into a new, cruel world without him. Thank you for all that you've done for the world, Stan, you will be missed by all of us. Rest in peace.
