For privacy reasons, I’m not going to say how old I am, but I am officially one year older. Hooray! I did update my age box though.
A couple of weeks ago, my friends woke me up early and took me out to breakfast and the library. Basically, I got kidnapped— and I had so much fun in the process!
Also, you may have noticed that I haven’t been as active here, on YWP NaNo, or on Camp NaNo. That’s because the device that I usually type on belonged to my school, and so I had to turn it in with then conclusion of the school year. I’ll try to be on as much as possible, but it won’t be more than once a day and probably not more than a couple times a week, either.
With that being said— I’ve decided to do something special for my birthday! It’s going to be in a couple of parts. The first part is going to be a Q&A. You can ask me whatever you want, within logical boundaries. The Admins will screen anything they deem inappropriate out (as usual) and I will also reserve the right to refuse questions. However, I honestly don’t think that’ll be a problem, since all of y’all are so amazing. :) The second part is something I’m going to do on my own. For every person who posts a question, I’m going to write them a compliment. Compliment threads are pretty much my favorite thing to do on the CB, since they just lift everyone up and spread good cheer. I wanted to do a compliment thread for my birthday anyway, but people have done that before, and I wanted to do something a little different. So ask, and you shall receive an answer and an honest compliment. (I won’t be complimenting for the sake of complimenting— I’ll be giving out honest feelings and thoughts.)

Thanks, Neko! To answer your question— I would most like to be remembered and respected. That may not seem like a goal, per say, but it is to me. If you’re looking for a more concrete, measurable goal, I want to eventually see my novel be finished and published.
Neko, you are so kind, creative, and sweet! You light up the CB with your bright ideas and sparkling wit. Your name truly matches who you are— inventive, exotic, and graceful. If there’s one thing I would ask you to do, it would be to keep being yourself. :)

Hmm, to answer your question, my dear friend, if I could eat only one food for the rest of my life it would be chocolate cake. I love chocolate so much, and while I may get sick of it after a while, it would be fun for a little while.
Agent Winter, you believed in me throughout my whole time here. You gave me the courage to dream, to look into jujitsu and wonder what it would be like if I dared. You gave me a connection to you through our fashion tastes and fandom tastes (Marvel is life), and you are so wonderful and amazing that I truly don’t have the words for it.

Thanks, Pooki! To answer your question, yes, it does feel weird to be a whole year older. I can now get a learner’s permit to drive (which I will be doing soon), I’m going to a new school, and I’ve made so many new friends and had so many new experiences. I remember one year ago on my birthday I was nervous to be so old, and now I laugh at the idea. Sometimes I feel eons old, and yet sometimes I feel so infinitesimally young and inexperienced. But being a year older is odd.
Pooki, I admire your courage. You are who you are and you’re proud of it, at least from what I can tell. If you’re not, you should be. You have so many things to be proud of. Your creativity. Your laughter. Your artwork, your positivity, your skills. The list is endless. And never forget that, okay? Remember that you too are skilled, even as you compliment the people around you.

Some of my hobbies and interests include reading, sketching, dreaming, writing prose/poetry/plays, and stargazing. I also love watching Star Trek with my mom and fixing things with my dad, as well as just spending time with my sister and dog. I also like taking old things and making them new, like finding an old jacket and replacing pockets with brightly colored fabric and covering a leather satchel with fandom pins.
I have not yet been overseas, but I will soon! This year, my band (as in matching band) is going to Germany! I’m a little nervous, because it’s going to be for 2 weeks (without my parents! In a foreign country! Staying with a host family I’ve never met!) and I don’t know if I can qualify for the highest level of band (which is the band that goes— if I don’t qualify I don’t go). But I’m choosing to be positive and believing that I can do it! (My dad also went to Australia a couple weeks back for a business trip— wouldn’t it be crazy if you guys ran into each other? Insanely unlikely, but still.)
Lilypad, just, wow. What can I say? I’ve already said that compliment threads are my favorite thing here— and you are the person that most often makes that happen. You make sure that people feel special and uplifted, whether it’s their birthday or just another Tuesday. You are absolutely incredible. Your undying cheer and positivity is so wonderful and your ideas are so amazing. I’ll put that right back at you, Lilypad— thank you for being yourself, and don’t ever change!

I would rather eat cereal for dinner, because (gasp) I don’t really like lasagna! I dunno why. It’s just kinda odd... and squishy... and like spaghetti, but square?? And with weird cheese??
