Happiness Thread!
Ok, so I know this has been done before but it's such an amazing idea I thought we could recreate it, I hope that's ok. The original was made by September so all credit goes to her.
The happiness challenge is where everyone aims to post one thing that makes them happy every day. It can be anything from cute animal memes you found in the internet to finishing a good book. Admins, feel free to participate. The challenge is on!
I saw three baby bunnies in our backyard this evening.

We saw a family of deer outside our front windows (which are huuuge so we got a good view of them)
There were two really tiny baby deer and a mummy deer. It was adorable!

I put a book on hold in early June, but it was checked out and there was already a hold on it. It is now finally my turn with it, and, reading it, it surpassed my very high expectations!
P.S. The book is Daughter of Smoke & Bone.

Vacation fun today: we toured Thomas Jefferson's house!
Monticello! I visited there with my family when I was about 7, I think.

@Soren and Admins, that is so cool! What was it like?
What my memory from age 7 (or was it 5 or 6?) remembers is beautiful lawns surrounding the classical-style home at the top of a hill, a garden area, and slave quarters. From inside Jefferson's house, I just remember one room. It was on the opposite side of the house from the side we entered. It may have been a study. I remember a desk, windows looking out onto the back lawn, and hearing the guide saying something about some clever or secret invention, maybe something hidden in the room? Since then, I've visited many other historical places, so some of the memories may have mixed up in my brain.

I spent ALL DAY walking around Downtown Portland DRAWING. It's a two-day watercolor camp/class thing with about ten other girls about my age, and we got to go to a couple places outside and sit and sketch/paint/draw. It was kinda hot in the sun, but there was some shade and we also sat in air-conditioned buildings for some of the time. I'm doing it tomorrow, too! It was great, and I got to see a lot more of Downtown than I have before. (It's not even that big, I just haven't really walked around it before!) And I bound a book for painting in.
