As far as advice, um, I've got nothing. I was homeschooled until last year, and I'm starting high school now, so I have no idea. Sorry.

Yeah. I agree with RP. Turn in your homework. Be nice to little kids. Set a good example. Also, it helps if you already know some of the 5th grade material before you start. Trust me, 5th grade isn't that bad.

Good luck!

Also, Random Person, I had no idea you were my age! I thought you were at least 13, if not older!

I'm going into sixth grade also! Tips... Um, I go to a private school, so it might be different, but the subject don't get that much harder. My homeroom teacher was amazing, but the science and social studies teacher was horrible. Our class just told Mrs. Hester, and she tried helping us in every way possible. Math sucks, but math always sucks, so that's not new. I don't know if this helps, but good luck.

Levana says zovv. Shush, you haven't been to fifth grade yet.

Ah, fifth grade. I remember my fifth grade year was super fun, we raised chickens and did awesome projects. Fifth grade isn’t as hard or as bad as you may hear. It was actually a really fun time for me, and I learned a lot. Just keep your mind open to new experiences and new learning material, and you’ll be fine. I’m going to be a sophomore in high school, and trust me, you need to have fun and learn a lot when you can. XDD

Wow! So many rising 6th graders here! I'm one too! So, as a 5th grader you'll probably have a lot of responsibility. Follow the rules and try to set a good example. However, with great responsibility comes a lot of fun! Enjoy your last year of elementary.

We don't do grades the same way you probably do, but as far as I'm aware, it's pretty much going to be the same. New teacher, of course, but... pretty much the same.

5th grade was the best. Everyone knows each other, so you really get to have a lot of fun. Also, there's double the parties at the end of the year. Now 6th grade, that's something you might need a little more... preparation... for.

Wait... I'm older than all of you? What? As a rising 7th grader and a new CBer, this is a strange feeling.

Tips:

- DO NOT listen to your ridiculously anxious teacher who tries to get you just as anxious as she is about MiDdLe SchOoL and oh it'll be so HaRd and StResSfULl and GrOw Up and PrePArE for HiGh sChoOL

- DO sit with the nerds (unless that's not your thing, which is totally fine, just sit with the people you like)

- DO NOT get discouraged. 5th grade might be a little harder than previous years. Don't let that freak you out. I'm sure you can handle it.

- DO manage your time well. I don't want to say how old I am for privacy reasons but I will say that I am past 5th grade and I still have not figured out time management, which is not fun. Make a To Do list and detailed plans of what time you're going to do stuff.

- DO NOT yell at your teachers if they're mean to you.

- DO respectfully point out when a teacher is doing something hurtful to you and if they don't stop tell the principal.

Ah, Elementary school. The good old days. I remember when I got my first pink slip-don't even remember what it is just that it was the worst slip to get-maybe I had detention or something idk, but I was in 4th grade and my teacher made me feel SO bad about it. It was great. And I think I got another one the same year. Do they even still have those? I feel so old now. GUYS WHATS A CELL PHONE

So my best advice, for 5th grade, for middle school, anything leading up to Freshmen year is HAVE FUN! Slack off, have a social life, make friends, flunk your classes. No one cares until you're in HighSchool anyway, so why waste all that valuable time? Write a book! Sharpen your drawing skills! Learn to play soccer! Run track! TAKE CLASSES THAT YOU WANT TO TAKE. Because as soon as you get into Highschool, they're gonna be stressing AP exams, PSATs, tests, tests, more tests, NWEA, TESSSSSSTTTTSSS, math, horrible math, textbooks, GOD SO MANY TEXTBOOKS-and not the type on your phone. So have fun while you can, don't stress the little stuff, be grateful for what you have. Don't fret about little misunderstandings with your friends too, usually they're over nothing (EXPERIENCE) so don't get yourself tied in a knot and let it slide. Also, don't bully (sad to say I've had experience with that too...) and if anyone is being bullied help them the best you can. Sometimes just being someone that will listen is all they need. Don't try to grow up fast. Live your childhood to it's fullest! Don't stress the small stuff. HAVE FUN!!!! Thats the only thing that matters!
